They start billing today for MCG Rev.B and will ship next week.
MCGs for GF (original) will be billed and shipped starting January 2, 2018.
Looks like I must wait until next year for mine. :(

Heh, VKB just can't catch a break. Their online commerce company double and triple, even more in some cases, many customers, resulting in some unfair backlash. Yes, it's still their responsibility, even if not their "fault". They at least have been open about fixing it. Didn't happen to me, at least not yet, just the one charge for the rev B pro unit. Should be great, hope I get it before the new year.
I'm also going to pick up the new Virpil desktop base, BRD is helping them do it, and although BRD is about the only custom company I don't have anything from yet, I've read very good things. Virpil's unit and mounts are fantastic so far, and I have high hopes for the VKB Gunfighter.

I got charged twice for the GF MGC. I shot of an email about 8:15am EST and received a very apologetic email back very quickly. BY about 2PM EST the error was corrected on my end.
Does any one know where these unit are shipping from? Russia, American wharehouses directly from the manufacter in the Asia area? Getting kinda excited
-
Their manufacturing happens in Singapore. My gunfighter base shipped from there in the spring. Looked like from my tracking that it went directly from there to NYC where it sat in customs for a couple of days. From the time I got the shipping number to delivery was like 5 days. Not bad for something coming from the other side of the earth! My MCG-Pro isn't shipping til the week of Jan 2. Been a really long wait.

Picked up my MCG Pro with the extension tonight. Replaced my Warthog stick. Simply amazing what it can do out of the box. The programming software is very capable, but mostly unnecessary since the stock configuration is very powerful. I replaced the Warthog for two reasons: 1) to get a better feel as even with an extension I can still feel the transition between the centering springs/cams around the center and some "stiction", 2) to have the analog lever for a brake axis on some aircraft, particularly the DCS MiG-21bis and DCS Spitfire MkIX, but several other aircraft, too. The trim switch is configured to toggle between being a POV hat and analog trim axes by pressing it for a second or so. Some sims have analog options for trim settings, this is perfect for those sims but most others work best with buttons. The stock profile handles both and allows you to map the unused functions for other purposes. i.e. I could use the POV hat for trim roll and pitch trim buttons and use the axes for setting wingspan and range on a gyro gunsight. Similarly, the axes could be used for trim and the POV hat for its normal view functions, such as panning in external views.
I love the feel of this stick. The plastic grip doesn't feel as heavy/sturdy as my real B-8 grip from an F-4 Phantom, but I generally find plastic more comfortable to hold than cold metal, especially when the Warthog is somewhat rectangular rather than rounded like the MCG. Since I am using the extension, I had to install the #50 springs (the heaviest ones provided). The stick centers well (didn't even need to calibrate it out of the box as all the axes were dead on). But it is so smooth/light around the center. I only feel the springs pulling hard as I get to the last 10 or 20% of the range of movement. This was not a cheap stick. It cost more than a full Warthog HOTAS just for the stick. But it is so much better than the Warthog in so many ways that for me it was well worth it.
-
Got mine yesterday too. It's dead sexy and feels very smooth without any tweaking of the springs and clutches. Sure it'll be even better after that.
Only one problem...
Their software isn't up to date to recognize the MCG-Pro! It sees the gunfighter base just fine but has problems with the stick. There's a setting there for the MCG but not the pro, consequently all the extra goodies on the pro are inoperable.
I was pulling my hair out til midnight last night figuring I had a dud! I posted to the VKB forums about it and got a guy that found a setting that at least got the buttons running so I knew it had to be something else. Sure enough they posted early this morning the firmware is behind a bit. Proper version coming today or tomorrow. Dang!

Strange, I already had the right software last night. Had no problem recognizing the stick. I didn't get much flying time last night because I spent so much time learning how the software worked. After I got done trying out configurations, I put it back to the original config and then got it mapped to a few of my aircraft in DCS World. I still need to get it mapped into Aces High.

Apparently the correct firmware that supports the MCG-Pro is v1.917. They say it'll be out maybe today. What's currently on their site is v1.85F.

I'm always on the look out for a new stick. I've haven't bought one I've liked in years. I'm going to look into more reviews of the MCG before I consider buying one.
I can't seem to find a version of it with a small base plate without the extension. I'm looking to buy one and attach it to a table mount- this stick appears to be fairly tall and I imagine will be uncomfortably high without a table mount to lower it.
-
I made a custom floor mount years ago. It's a 12" steel flange (heavy) tapped for 2" pipe. Have about 2 feet of pipe with a 2x1 reducer and a short 1" nipple ( that's my height adjustment--just change nipples as needed). Screwed on to that is an aluminum box I got someone to make that my CH fighterstick fit into. I made up my own metal plate for the gunfighter that fits it perfect. The MCG-Pro is a little bit taller than the fighterstick.

got mine last night
luv it! had to go to the centering cam as the 10 was to weak in the center. like was said above all axes were centered. I put about 4 hrs on it last night and it was great. having to get use to a new stick and all the buttons but that will come with time. I love the 2 stage trigger its great.
don't really see a difference in the friction cams unless they are tightened up pretty good then it feels kinda stick around the center so I loosened them up.
I would like a smaller base though, this is a very nice base but would prefer the small one that I have seen in other videos

FYI the updated firmware to support the MCG-Pro is available. Link is in the vkb forum discussion I linked yesterday.

Are you talking about an iron floor flange, never seen one in 12" at the big box store. :)
Where did you get it? I'm looking to make some a somewhat movable floor stand and this is a good starting point.

Steam fitting. It's heavy! Goes nowhere without some effort!

drano where did you find the manual for this I cant find one trying different searches
-
The manual I have is an English translation pdf for VKBDevconfig from like last March which is the most recent that's been translated as far as I know. It's pretty much pre-gunfighter and certainly PRE-MCG series grips. So no specific info regarding those in the manual. I'll look for the link and post it here. I'll say that once I flashed the new black box firmware (1.917) things showed up as they should in the software lessening the confusion somewhat!
A lot of things aren't obvious but the software is hyper configurable. A lot of it is beyond me. I'm trying to figure out how to make a few simple macros and I have the manual with a whole section on that right in front of me lol! It's just not clicking with me.

Had a hard time pasting the url into this thread. I emailed it to myself--that worked! Pasting it here messed it up. Try cut and paste into your browser.

Finally got a tracking# for my MCG Pro yesterday and should be delivered Wednesday.
When you all get the un-intuitive software figured out, I may have some questions for you all.
<S> All...Av8.
-
It is generally not user friendly! That said it appears comprehensive as all get out. I'm still peeling back the layers of the onion. Finally figured out how to make a macro yesterday. Got the all important /.ef mapped! However subsequent macros ain't working as intended. Surely it's just the next thing I've missed.

The software on a basic level is fairly easy av8. If you try to take it further though is when it gets difficult
-
Agreed on that Pluto. There's VKBDevconfig which goes on pretty much forever and there's Wizzo which is the Lite version. Wizzo is for calibrating and setting deadbands, etc., but doesn't do the mapping and hyper tweaking that VKBDevconfig will.
