Title: Mic Boost Setting Keeps Changing Itself (part duex)
Post by: doright on December 24, 2017, 12:58:19 PM
Posting this again since I verified that this wasn't a user error.

My mic boost slider keeps slipping back down to the left by itself, making me inaudible to others. Maybe not a bad thing in their ears but...

The "Enable Auto Mic DB Boost" box doesn't seem to change the behavior either checked or not.
Seems to happen gradually over time.
Been a problem in the last few updates.
Running DX11 version with Oculus Rift.

Looking through the settings files I found this in ahvoc.cfg file (listed as modified last night):
0,NotUsed
0,RangeChannelBeeps
1,TuneChannelBeeps
1.00,MicVolume
1.00,SpeakerVolume
0.50,PlaybackEfffectVolume
0.50,RecordEfffectVolume
2,Flags
7.62,AugoMicGain     <- typo?

Happens to me also. Never think to check it, well till I get an "Par, see ya keying up but WAY low on volume".  It doesnt happen ALL the time but is very often. Not sure if it could be the issue in AH but I do have it after have changed the default play back device in Windows. Could be adjusting the volume levels when I do, and game is still up?

Happens to me randomly. The only applications I use mic for are AH and Skype, the latter adjusting mic gain automatically. I fly on a weekend basis and speak on Skype even more seldom. Could it be that the occasional Skype talk adjusts the Windows sound settings which in turn change the AH mic gain?

Thats sort of where I was going, bizman. Its the only other times I use Mic/headset. Youtube and Face time stuff. I will start keeping a log of what I do BEFORE I log into AH and see if a pattern develops. Cant really see how these could affect the game....then again I dont know alot :old:
