Habitual flashing no not this type.
This type.
Kill radar then ditch in the forest inside of the radar ring.
Gets old nothing productive other than being a pest.

I'm starting to think that bailing out should not be an option anymore. I can't think of any reason to have it other than "immersion" but as for gameplay it does not have anything positive to offer.

What has this to do with those 'flashers" ?
-
What has this to do with those 'flashers" ?
Well, it has to do with flashers that bail, I suppose .... realizing there's more ways than that to stealth flash a base.
-
Bailed pilots do not flash a base.

Bailed pilots do not flash a base.
Really? Is this something new?

Really? Is this something new?
Had always been this way all my AH career.

Is anyone going to actually test it??

On temporary hiatus or I would. Don't mind being wrong about it, either. :)

Bailed pilots do not flash a base.
I always though they did, but I just tested it and they do not flash a base.
-
This is not a bailed pilot. This is someone who actually drives / fly's an aircraft some distance off the field inside the dar ring and then when on clear ground rolls the aircraft into a set of trees and sits there and flashes the base once it's taken. It's unfortunate this type of activity is allowed...but clearly not a priority.
Those of us that know how to use film continue to do so and find the culprits giving us free kills...but...it's more of a time wasting annoyance than anything else that should be banned in the game.

Why should this "type of activity" not be allowed? Cybro isn't griefing/harrasing anyone or committing any other type of TOS violations that would warrant any disciplinary actions.

Cybro is funny as hell

Nooooooo you have to let the players do what they want
Sarcasm.

To me it is just another piece of lame game play that is going to continue to be allowed on a "technicality".
And people wonder why this game continuously loses players faster than they add players.

Actually, HTC makes the sandbox and pretty much does let that happen. Dale may code in ENY and stuff for balance (to keep hordes from steam-rolling maps with P-51Ds, F4U-Cs, B-29s and such quite so easily - or to encourage balanced numbers) but if he took the whining about what one or a few players thought were 'ruining' this game as seriously as they wanted him to then both TOS and code would become a mess thicker than Hasidic sabbath law.
Mazel tov! :D

I'm talking about the community...not Hitech.
First, glad your troll self showed up....hopefully providing more proof to people that that's all you are....but people in this community think telling people HOs are ok is an option so I doubt they are actually smart enough to see.
Second, to answer your comment in that locked thread...No I would not make a thread about someone talking crap to me unless they kept talking crap to me....plus why would I??? I beat him down like a baby seal. I posted the comment about him talking smack because you put him up on a high horse and tried to paint me out to be some bully....which is funny because INTERNET
Third, there is no issue with debating how the community should think, or trying to persuade the community to think a certain way in order to change gameplay without Hi-tech having to change the game in code
Here's a great example, M3 Town Resupply....when I first made a thread years ago I saw it all the time and NOBODY agreed with me other then Bruv119 and Lazer....20 page thread and only 2 people agreed with me....that last one, 37 page thread and only 4-5 disagreed and they were spilling stupid arguments....just like you in that HO thread.
Your right play how you want....I like playing where I see dweebery I call them stupid for doing it....I'm not using vulgar language so I'm within the TOS....see how your argument falls apart...."it's worse for the community then HOing" How many threads did you quote from about HOing....and how many threads are there about people talking smack on 200.....sooo which is driving people away??? Oh neither it's UI doing that duhhhh
If the community is fine with dweebery then that is all we will end up having. Someone apologized to me for taking my kill on a Hellcat I knocked half his wing off....I didnt care I have thousands of kills...I was letting him RTB his half winged plane...
I'm not here for some glory of being the best or to get a lot of kills...I've already got a lot of kills on a lot of people who have been called the "best" in the past. I'm Here For The Fight....and if I think something will make the fight better....I'll post about it....if you don't like it...ignore and squelch me..
Now kick rocks Troll, Hope your Christmas sucks.
-
Wow, that's a lot of issues. Have a merry Christmas. Mine is. :)

Bailed pilots do not make bases flash, but they do walk around the forrest and make indecent offers to little girls. :old:
They also eat grandmas.

Your definition/reactionary level is rather shallow, mate. Try relaxing and enjoying Christmas day. Not everyone is 'out to get you.' :)
As to the topic, I didn't see it as worth the effort, to begin with. I've learned about what can and cannot flash bases (even with years of experience with the game). I even know why a player may wish to do so (their tactical reasoning being sound or not). But I'm still not the behavior police nor do I recognize the 'validity' in such a chosen endeavor. It's not worth the frustration and/or stress that comes with it. I can't see how it could ever enhance someone's enjoyment of the game or community.
Anyway, I wished you a Merry Christmas and I mean it. There's really no reason to be petty and the spirit of the season doesn't lend itself well to that. :)

Again, what TOS rule is being violated? There is no technicality involved, cyber is not doing anything wrong that is on violation of the TOS.

Oh I have but he gets more devious with his hiding hence the reason he is using an A6M2. He is now basically finding the heaviest wooded spot on a map, with the low flap speed of the zero he is crashing into the tree canopy then falls below it. Virtually impossible to find unless you use film viewer. Ironically the same way i would find you icepac when you were in this phase of your AHII career. :D

I never said anything about TOS, I called it lame, just like the continuous NOEs we use to have, or the "wack a mole" missions where the whole group would bail if one defender showed up only to try for another easy base take on the other side of the map, or the guys that bail from buffs when someone shows up to defend the target they are going to, or leaving from, just like the guys that jump into M3s with supplies at the first sign of of buff entering the sector.
This game is losing players every week due to crap play. People dont want to spend $15 a month to hunt some clown parked in a plane under a tree just to make a base flash for hours, or to up to defend a base only to have the mission run away, or to chase down a buff only to see them bail before you get into icon range, or to spend time hunting for a CV group that is "hidden" because it might get attacked, of to have any number of other lame plays to take away from what the game was always suppose to be about. Interacting with other players from all over the world in a continuous battle raging 24/7.
-
Yeah well I tried. But was time to delete account again after just 3 or so months.
#1 Usual lamer stuff like this
#2 Usual lame bomber stuff where they escort less lethal fighters because they have greater lethality and dive bomb also.
#3 Usual idiotic maps like Pinwheel..
#4 Zoom in air kills @ 1000 + are no big effort to do
#5 well, whats the point of adding more...cya again in 3 yrs

My view of lame play is people that fly around and defend their bases. People that don't post or join missions. People that go out of their way to avoid or disrupt team play. Those are the reasons I grew tired of lame play.
Making a base flash, causing a mission to bail, causing a buff to bail, hiding a cv, are not on my list.
albeit, there is a account, maybe two, that obviously enjoys the subtle possibilities within a continuous live arena. kinda like sitting on a porch "virtually".
-
troops and pilots don't flash bases never have-gv's and crashed planes do just ask Thor
-
and how long you people say you played this game?
how do you think so many V-bases get stolen-plane comes in kills the 6 auto guns-M3 release's troops and bails base flashed no more troops still run bam base stolen

that means I can run a M3 resupp all I want :D

Let me get this straight... On Christmas you guys argued why a base on an online game may or not flash, along with the social etiquette associated with such behavior?
Don't you have any families? Children? A girlfriend that wants Christmas with her AH playing boyfriend?

My view of lame play.....
Furballin... Running up your kill count... not helping take down a base/town/deacking or porking nearby bases. Crying if someone is trying to take a base they are furballin at.
Parking a CV Task Force 1.5 k off a base so they don't have to fly very far to..... Furball.
GV Spawn camping...
Anything happening at the so called TankTowns Islands.
Bombing and bailing...
etc. etc. etc.

Maybe that is true, but I bet of those there are womenfolk less interested in the social policies of an online game than celebrating the holidays with family (read in-laws).

I worked all day for Christmas...so did nurses, firefighters, ECT ect

Most fights have dried up, can rarely find a good furball. About the only thing left now is deacking bases because the other team refuses to up and defend. :old:

Didn't you hear? Defending a base is now considered lame game play.

When I first saw this thread title I though uh-oh what Pig got caught running around naked where. Thank God this is someone else's silly problem. LOL 😁
-
to me Christmas is just another day to me=waffles for breakfast-soup for lunch-hamburgers for supper-no special dinners or anything like that-its just a day in the week
-
I think I was supposed to have a lousy one. Guess it wasn't this one. :D
-
Is anyone going to actually test it??
yes I do it all the time.. Take a goon to 10k bail out after dumping troops and follow them all the way down to the deacked vbase it stops flashing after I bail I get to watch the troops go into the map room they only know I'm there cause if they come out of the vh it gives them a red end sorte.... In case you're wondering why I take them to 10k I want to get out of the id range of the 88s if they know I'm a c47 it's a bust

Just more indication of the way this game is going. I have joined every mission posted while I was on over the last year but one. That means I've been in a couple missions from Pops, and those that my squadies run, so maybe 10-12 for the year.
Today you'll see a group kinda get together and capture a base, then its a 5 minutes before anyone can agree on the NEXT base to go after. Those missions are more along the line or "grab what you want and follow along and try to be helpful". Very few bother with missions any more. They take too much time to put together, co-ordinate, and lead for anyone to post one or join in one.
The "i want it now" generation of game player contributes to this lameness.
They want to bomb stuff.... cant bother to climb and use the site, Dive Bombing Lancs that NEVER get all their ord out let alone RTB.
They want to fight.... Ho HO and HO until dead, grab another plane, rinse and repeat.
They want to pork a field..... dive into a field until dead by ack because they go after buildings instead of guns.
They want to GV..... up time after time to feed spawn campers.
Maybe they dont know whats available, how missions and team work can make the game so much more fun, how battling a foe to win the fight/base/war is so much more than all the corners they cut to get it done now. If there is no thrill to the game, players get bored and leave.
-

lol typo ya you have to check alt of base and go 12k above that

12k of altitude is only ~4k of (icon) range. What you are doing isn't working as you seem to think :old:

I'll remember this the next time I post a mission... :devil But yes, I love the pickup missions when they're actually prepared. They're WHAT HOOKED ME TO THE GAME! Jayro's strike missions were ALWAYS popular when I was on the knights, and people didn't mind bailing out to join... Not even a pickup mission,
he just called for a a "Strike mission! Meet West runway of A54 with your favorite ride but bring ords! 3 minutes to launch!"
I just wish there was some other way of enticing players on a country to actually JOIN a pickup mission... Spamming the country channel is an easy ticket to getting squelched... I WISH that just like the ".join" popup window, that we could get a pickup mission 2minute warning pop-up of some kind to encourage participation. :pray
-
I fly with a large squad so I don't normally join missions...but I will always work with friendlys in the same area to kill red guys (check 6s, clears, spotting ect)

Try to get to the ground before the troops.
I've beat my troops to the ground and stood by the storch hanger capping guys bailing to shoot the troops or killed a manned ack that popped.

I too think something should be done about cybro, but to be fair, nowadays everyone pretty much knows if it is cy that's flashing a base, and the few that care seem to find satisfaction in searching for him. As for your other points, the NOEs and "whole group bailing" thing are things of the past, aren't they? Not reasons then for currently declining player numbers.
Bomb 'n' bailers I agree suck, but we seem to have less of them now than before. Again, not a current reason for declining numbers.
And I really don't think people have left the game because players have driven m3s to town ahead of the bombs that white flagged it, do you? Not that it often happens, and I would know: I watched maps like a hawk for enemy base take attempts, and called stuff out on country when something looked suspicious.
The game has simply changed as HT tried to make it more interesting to new players, and unfortunately, some of the changes have driven existing players away. Imo none of the things you mentioned have had anything to do with that.
-
Some players drive themselves away and blame everyone/everything but them-self. This is a personality/character flaw. I don't think its even as widespread as claimed. Most players that leave the game (temporarily or permanently) are just experiencing life away from it. The reason may be financial. It may be a priority shift (again, whether permanently of temporary). It can even be a sense of boredom (but not because of others, all that much). Some players like to believe that the latter represents proof of a flawed game or community that can be corrected with angry typing and character assassination. That's projection (another personality/character flaw). Notice a percentage (not anywhere near the majority) that constantly complain or berate others yet stay in the game. What's up with that? Do they really think they are 'helping?'
Are the overall numbers lower? Yes. Will they always be? Well, with an element of the community complaining about imaginary changes in how players play the game, it may. Then again, if new blood doesn't take them all that seriously (old blood, for that matter), who knows?

Freud? You don't have to be an expert to see them when they stick out rather badly. But since my post brings out the best in you, why not actually address what you think is wrong with it and I'll keep an open mind and a positive attitude. :)

I WISH that just like the ".join" popup window, that we could get a pickup mission 2minute warning pop-up of some kind to encourage participation. :pray
Ive been in your missions when you called them :aok
This is one of those things missing for todays players. You didnt HAVE to entice players to join missions, and the "spamming" was not only tolerated, it was encouraged by most. Todays player most likely couldnt figure out how to join a posted mission, follow waypoints, let alone hit the targets they were assigned. The joy of just fighting the battle is gone from most players these days.
I too think something should be done about cybro, but to be fair, nowadays everyone pretty much knows if it is cy that's flashing a base, and the few that care seem to find satisfaction in searching for him. ....and how do you think we got to the declined numbers we are at? That type of lame game play got us here
Bomb 'n' bailers I agree suck, but we seem to have less of them now than before. Again, not a current reason for declining numbers.
We see less of everything, but Im sure that is due to the lower numbers.
And I really don't think people have left the game because players have driven m3s to town ahead of the bombs that white flagged it, do you? Not that it often happens, and I would know: I watched maps like a hawk for enemy base take attempts, and called stuff out on country when something looked suspicious.
Im sure there have been players to leave due to M3s being the last straw. As it is these days it is one little thing after another and players finally just stop logging in. Then they just cancel the subscription. After logging in 2-5 nights a week for years they find that a monthe goes by and they dont both playing the game any more than an hour or so a month.
The game has simply changed as HT tried to make it more interesting to new players, and unfortunately, some of the changes have driven existing players away. Imo none of the things you mentioned have had anything to do with that.
And that is fine, players leave. They get bored and move on the next best greats thing. The problem is HTC isnt bringing the new guys as fast as they are losing these others. Poor advertising, poor game play, poor indoctrination of new players to help them along, what ever it may be there just isnt enough new players to cover the players that are leaving.
The game has to be fun and exciting or the new guys are just not going to stay. Something has got to be done to bring that back or the slow decline will continue.

Thinning the trees out would help resolve the issue.

People leave because they are no longer having fun. It is as simple as that.

Find a friend on NIT or Rook and tell them where the free kill is :) If we encourage this then maybe his ways will stop eventually.

:rofl :rofl :rofl
Yes. This time, vectoring people in to find him will surely make him change his ways considering people have been doing it since he's been here.
Also finding it highly amusing that you're essentially doing exactly what people keep accusing him of by telling people to tell people on the other country where he is to grief him.
Doesn't matter if you're doing it through a second account or telling another player, people having info from the other side is still cheating.

I'm open to other suggestions to help curb his wonderful gameplay...but ignoring him or those tactics is not an option.

Why?

I really don't care much about Cybro one way or the other, but I wonder what it'd be like if the longer you stayed stationary the longer your icon would get?

It'd be like hiding/ambush = lighting road flares then eventually shooting parachute flares. Not sure that form of game coding would be a winner to Dale (but then, I'm not him).
