Okay Scenario Fans!
The two finalist from the preliminary vote were;
A) Nuisance Raids 1942
and
G) Battle of Crimea/Kuban region 1943
Choice "A" had already be well defined, but the scenario team had to put in some research time on choice "G". From the research on the vast battlefield of the eastern Black Sea region, a more well defined choice "G" is listed for your final vote along with choice "A" below;
A) Nuisance Raids 1942
RAF and Luftwaffe trading blows following Battle of Britain.
Fighter combat, attack, tactical bombing.
Luftwaffe: Bf109F-4, Bf109G-2, Fw190A-5, JU88A-4
RAF: Spitfire V, Spitfire IX, Hurricane IIB, Typhoon IB, Boston III
or
G) The Battle of the Western Kuban
Soviet forces counterattack along a wide area on the Eastern Front southwest of Stalingrad in early 1943.
Air to Air combat, Dive bombing, low level attack and level bombing.
Luftwaffe: Bf109G-2, Bf109G-6, FW190A-5, JU87D-3, Bf110G-2, HE111H
VVS: Yak-7B, Yak-9T, La-5FN, P-39D, Spitfire V, IL-2, A-20G, Boston III
Please place your vote here for the February 2018 Scenario. The final tally will be taken and the event will be decided on January 1, 2018.
Thanks again for your participation.

All,
A minor chance. We are going to transition the P-39D to the P-39Q on the VVS side.
Cheers...

For the HE111, of course. :)

That way there could be no confusion.

I would say G except for the spitfire. Not sure how that lines up with the soviet plane set. Is it taking the place of a model we don't have, if so which one and why?

Lend lease bro. Prob not best to discuss it in this voting thread.

If the crutch plane gets more people to participate I'm all for it.

Gentlemen,
Only affirmative votes are counted. In other words, if you condition your vote based on the setup or some sort of speculation, the vote is not counted.
Please just state A or G.
Let your As be As and your Gs be Gs.
Thank you...

All,
A small adjustment has been made to the "Nuisance Raids" event to better align the hardware. The Hawker Hurricane squadron has been removed from the event replaced with a Spitfire Mk V squadron. Also, a FW190 gruppe has been moved in lieu of a Bf109F gruppe.
Again, this was done to create greater balance of aircraft in the event.
Cheers...

Gosh that's 3 changes to the ticket since voting started. I understand the P-39Q has replaced the '39D in the Kuban setup but I am a little lost with regard to what the recent changes mean for the Nuisance Raids.
Are you saying both the Hurricane IIb and Fw190A-5 have been removed from the setup, to be replaced by additional Spit Vs and Me109Fs?

Not exactly, there are concerns that the Hurricane is too slow. It is a point that has merit as most of the Hurricanes of the time became night fighters.
Essentially, the design was adjusted to focus a little more on balance and playability with these changes. There will be enough of the right models to have really great fights for sure.
A vote for either A or G won't be disappointing. :aok
Just make sure your votes are in by Monday midnight.

Thanks for your response, Sware. I'm sure either way it'll be good.
I'm just not sure I understand what "A" is any more - have you removed the Hurricanes and FW190s completely?
-
With all the changes in the aircraft order of battle, I decided to bring this for complete dominance over any WW2 aircraft.

You will always find me in the exact center of the fight. :devil

Negative...
Only the Hurricanes have been removed completely. Even though the Luftwaffe during the period had a major ramp up and refit to the Fw190, we decreased the number of FW190s for parity sake. Removing the FW190 is next to impossible from a historical perspective, that wouldn't happen.
The way the document stands today make it an even event. Should be fun if it is the final vote.
Cheers...

Looks like photobucket wants money to post pics here. Time to find another. I posted a pic of the 1980s arcade game screen of Time Pilot.

Until they jump onto the greedy bastage bandwagon, you may want to consider:

I'm going to go with G, based on more aircraft types included and more variety in the mission profiles.

All,

The CM team will then begin the finalization of the Write-Up, communicate dates, start working on registration and other scenario activities.
We appreciate all of the inputs and votes that have been made thus far. Whichever event wins the final vote, the February 2018 Aces High Scenario will be a great time.
Best Regards,

Looks like I’ll have to get my 109 ready, eastern front here I come!

Stalingrad with no tanks.... or since someone assumes that no one likes tanks we should not include them in our fun?
Maybe we should have a typhoon of wind at 20,000ft as well... you know to limit the possibility of realism.
-
The people who decided that they don't like tanks in scenarios is the entire player base. We tried getting GVers into scenarios many, many times with a lot of effort each time. The last time we tried it, three people went into tanks. Scenario players prefer the air-combat part of the battles.
Altitudes picked in scenarios are not a mystery.
Scenarios are crafted to make the experience of flying in them like what you read about if you read accounts of the action in the battle -- to be representative of that action. For scenarios where there was lots of high-alt action (8th AF vs. Luftwaffe, for example) there are fights that happen at 34k. For Eastern Front (and Tunisia, Rabaul, etc.) where there was almost no action way up that high, and almost all of it was lower, we craft it that way. If we didn't, fights would be at 30+k, which would be unrepresentative and highly unrealistic.

I'm terrible at GV play (read worse than dog-fighting). I was a big proponent of a Battle of the Bulge scenario, however - with tanks being the star. It was the main reason I asked for the Sherman to be modeled.

You would think a historical scenario with GV action would be a good idea. But when there is an opportunity for GV drivers to participate one (Winter Sky, Death Ground 2012), they stay in the MA.

I blame marketing. Who's in charge of that, nowadays? :furious

If the CM team tried any harder to bring in the GV'ers for that one, it would have looked like that scene with the hooker from Full Metal Jacket:
