I'm wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction on this.
My game sound gets fuzzy/crackly, cutting in and out with a lot of background noise in certain instances within the game. It's especially noticeable while on the ground. Between the track noises and the ground crunchy noises my computer goes crazy. I notice there's usually a drop in frame rate associated with this as well. I'm hoping someone might be able to help.
I'm thinking it might be something between video card and computer trying to decide who gets to process sound and it causing feedback or interference, but Video/Sound cards don't seem to be my strong suit and I don't want to go fiddling around with something without having an idea on what I would need to be doing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :salute

Most common cause of that is sharing interrupts with other high data usage devices. USB sound devices are the most susceptible to this, but on-board sound is also suspect.

Is there a way for me to check and see what would be causing the conflicts?

A DxDiag output sent here as an attachment would possibly help to find something. Howto: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,71591.msg3215282.html#msg3215282 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,71591.msg3215282.html#msg3215282)

Thanks Biz, I'll check it out when I get home and see if I can send it across.
