According to Flying Legends of Texas and The Commemorative Air Force of Camarillo Ca. Yes The Mitsubishi A6M has Emergency Overboost "WEP". So should AH3 Zekes.
-
The Flying Legends museum is only partially correct. Yes, one model of the Zeke did have WEP, but it's not any of the Zekes that we have in-game. The Zeke that had WEP was the A6M5c Model 53 (some reports list the A6M5c Model 52 as well) when the Sakae 31 was installed. Our Zekes don't have that engine.

welllllll lets GET it! :bolt:

The 5c is the ultimate operational Zeke. Would be nice to see it.

We could use more variants. Was a prevalent aircraft.

They did but it's not exactly black and white... In Mitsubishi Zero: Japan's Legendary Fighter by Peter C Smith (reprint 2014 ISBN: 9781473846883) they talk about the development of the Zero and they had issues implementing the WEP reliability. From what I read in chapter 9, the WEP systems never really worked well and were pulled until they managed to get it into the later built A6M5 variants. And even then, they only had it in the planes in operations starting late 1944 / early 45.
