Title: Why LOCK a flame baiting violation of Rule #4...
Post by: Rodent57 on February 09, 2018, 02:39:38 PM
Sincere question.

If its an ROE violation, why not simply eliminate it.

The violation is still very visible, and reprehensible.

Just wondering.

From what I remember, Skuzzy said deleting threads interferes with the search/load functions of the forum software.

At least that is the way I remember it.

OK

Just seems counter productive when we are trying to bolster the number of players.

But you would not have need to delete the whole thread, just the message ;)
I have to admit that in this very case I was thinking something similar to Rodent.

Also,   What is the deeper meanINg  of the capitalized "IN"?

Frankly it loses its force if it isn't understood by the reader.

I can come up with LOTS of inferred meanings (Most of which would be rude for me to write, so I won't). :uhoh

Some people think its a cute way to say "IN before the lock!"

SMF should allow you to hide threads, which could be done to threads that have been locked for rules violations.

Through SMF, you should also be able to rebuild the database after thread purging to allow for the search feature to accurately display results. It’s been a very long time since I last used SMF. I use Vbulletin for all of my communities.

Why do we still have a thread titled "Open Beta Test"?  We don't have anything like that for AHII.
The last post from there was 2 years ago.  Get rid of it.

I believe some of the information in it still holds value, and as such, it is still useful.

Yes but seeing any content in a locked thread is cheap entertainment.
