Yellowstone had 20 quakes, the biggest around 3.4 but they were all 8 miles or deeper.
Every time there is a slow news day, the media starts looking at the quake maps on Yellowstone and starts reporting fear.

Yes, it will blow one day, and wipe out humankind, but I don't think we have to worry about it for another million years. :)

Taupo has been more active than yellowstone, it was the last supereruption (25000 years ago) and has had recently eruptions (180AD).

20 quakes?  Try again.

Apparently, these are normal earthquake swarms for that area and occur regularly.  Last years swarm accounted for over 2400 quakes over a 3 month period of time.

I read that link.  You have to admit, it wreaks of sensationalism.

I mean, this swarm started on February 8.  Yes, it has averaged about 20 quakes a day for 10 days, yet the express is just now reporting the world may be coming to an end?  What about the 2400 quakes which happened last year?

Credibility: -1

The article I was referring to  ,from MailOnline, was very similar,   about same maps showing the swarm.
