Hard for me to imagine how they could have let that get by them.

whoops
Hey everyone—We're still working hard to resolve the cert issue. We're in the process of integrating an updated cert. Unfortunately, pushing the update out to affected users has some added complexity, as the expired cert blocks our standard software update path. We're working through the options now, and we expect to have more details to share later this evening.

Second time they`ve let this happen to re expiring certs. The funny part is even now that they`ve `fixed' the cert issue, they can't push it out due to the problem to the clients. L!O!L! Man are they getting hammered on social media right now too.
One would think that Oculus would be very careful about dotting i's and crossing t's due to the fact they have NO 2.0 product ready to compete with Vive2.0 and the Samsung mixed reality/etc stuff. On other game boards their devs and users are using the Samsung already and talking positively about it - while yes, the Rift's drivers etc are very much superior to the Vive and perhaps MR units (for now), counting on this to maintain market share while other companies put out much higher res and better looking units for equivalent price, while letting some ridiculous slip up with your certs expiring happen, isn't great timing IMO.
