Title: A question for the Brits/Londoners
Post by: Bizman on March 09, 2018, 09:27:00 AM
I know this is probably the wrong forum but I'll post it here for most views.

My daughter will start her studies in London next fall. Music, performance and production at the LCCM. If anyone of you has a room or a small apartment to rent within a reasonable traveling distance from Union Street, please PM me.

Shouldn't this be moved to the "Brits In London With Room To Rent" forum?  :devil

Yikes, London rents are completely ridiculous.  I was very happy when my son said he didn't want to go to the UK.  He was looking at LSE after Oxford turned him down (thanks to his previous school sending predicted final year grades for his application that were lower than what turned out to be his actual Predicted: 89%, Actual: 93%.  Unless there is a 9 in front of the number they don't even consider an application)  That took the wind out of his sails a bit and soured his desire to go to the UK to school.

Can't be cheap to live in London now, especially as a student.

Plus people talk funny and drive on the wrong side.

Congrats to your daughter Biz, good school.

Yepp, Gman, noticed the high cost level... Thanks for your comment about the school, that was somewhat of a concern to me.

Can she maybe get a part time job at Zacks pie shop and live in Bruvs mansion as an au pair?

Probably yes if they can arrange for the daily transport within a reasonable traveling time. Doesn't Zack have a personal jet in his back yard beside his cabbages and beetroots?

I have 2 spare rooms but the commute from Gosport to Central London won't be great.

An au pair would be a great idea though wonder why I didn't think of that.  I could still play games etc   :D

Next year there may only be 1 spare room.    :uhoh    :bolt:
