What in the world made that enormous hole in the turret of the Panther?  Was the New Jersey cruising nearby?

Too funny - I was thinking exactly the same thing.  FML - that scrambled all organic material inside the tank.  There are a bunch of images from the Battle of Kursk - these ones ran into 88mm field guns and large field artillery pieces.

On a side note - the Panther tanks had a very high kill ratio against the Soviets - and while the Red Army had fielded something 10'000 tanks, the 150 or so Panthers accounted for almost 30% of all the tank kills in that battle. Red Army lost over 6000 tanks. Brutal engagement.

That Panther must of been mine. One shot from any tank at Amy distance does that to me.
