Title: My trees are tapped, are yours?

I'm boiling down some maple sap today to make syrup, finishing it on the stove in the kitchen. I'm down to about 1.5 gallons boiled down from 25 gallons of sap. I just tasted some of the amber nectar and a smile washed over my face like kid.

Last year I ended up with about 32 oz. of pure maple syrup. Mmmmmm.

Any one else tap maple trees this year?

That's trees torture, in revenge they could jump in front of your car :old: ; next incarnation you'll be the tree and spirit of the forest goes human, drilling hole and juicing your nuts, see how you like it :furious.

Every time I see that I wonder if they get as upset for the poor wheat plants when they eat their whole grain toast in the morning.  Alternatively, if they only care about "old growth forests," I guess they don't mind the senseless slaughter of baby plants...

Pffft.  I like maple syrup on my wheat toast.  I have no sympathy for vegetation.

I like maple syrup on my Bacon. I have no sympathy for plant or animal. :devil

I ended up with 36 oz this year, 4 more than last. I had only three trees tapped.

Ghi, your post has got me thinking up a new verse for the Rush song "The Trees."
