Title: Looking For A Cheapo Joystick
Post by: Dichotomy on March 26, 2018, 04:02:12 PM
Windows 10.  Just want to occasionally 'fly' again offline just to see how things have changed.  You guys have no idea how much I miss the fun of doing missions on Friday night etc.  So, sometimes, I get the urge to play offline as long as I can without getting sick again.  I was looking at this https://www.amazon.com/ThrustMaster-2960623-Thrustmaster-USB-Joystick/dp/B0002EAA36/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1522097839&sr=1-1&keywords=saitek+joystick but I don't know if it will work with windows 10.  I thought I might be coming back a year ago but I just don't see that happening in my near future but, occasionally, I get the bug and want to 'fly'.

Anybody got any ideas what I can gank off of Amazon that has throttle and view control other than that? Reviews are mixed.

I strongly recomend VKB gladiator, very good stick.
$100 but loads of bang for your buck, the pro version is way more..but you get a lot of new tech not old pots..
its very sensitive and responsive .. its like a top end stick at 1/3 of the price, way better than a $40 stick..streets ahead. and adjustable springs etc for your own set up.
have a look into it, they are impressive.
<S> welcome back.. come join the fun

Best stick for lower cost (but not lowest cost) is the Thrustmaster T.16000M for $60.

I've bought cheaper.  You can get some for $30-$35.  They aren't as good, but if you want absolute lowest cost, they are workable.

For occasional flights I'd recommend the T-Flight Hotas for $50. It occupies both of your hands, can be used as a compact unit or detached, has both twisty and rocker for rudder etc. Plus it has 12 buttons so you don't have to reach to your keyboard for every single action like adding up or down to your hat views. They seem to last quite a long time if you're gentle handed. Used one for years without issues, still use the throttle.

The T.16000M is more precise and has gained a good reputation among those who don't want massive street legal gear. Many of us Finns have been using them for several years. They also make a throttle for it, as a bundle they cost $110. Pedals are available too, but according to reviews they don't quite match the tabletop gear.
