Could it be related to virtual desktops? Here's some info for Win10: https://www.howtogeek.com/197625/how-to-use-virtual-desktops-in-windows-10/ (https://www.howtogeek.com/197625/how-to-use-virtual-desktops-in-windows-10/). If you have another OS, google for virtual desktop for that one.

no it's not that i just pressed some random keys and all of a sudden i have a 9 grid screen. the screen itself it's full size but i just have lines diving it into a 9 squares. i can still see everyting on the same screen.
it's just lines on the screen.

Could be your monitor semp, some have an alignment grid which is exactly what you're describing. Try resetting your monitor, or pull up the monitor/lcd control panel in Windows and mess with that.

I've read about them in some bunch review but I've never seen one. Since image processing programs have grids of their own, that feature must be aimed for gamers wanting to game the games. Similar to the dot in the middle of the screen for aiming.

Yep. I use the LCD factory crosshairs for AH3 all the time with my Asus ROG Swift LCDs - you can move your seat anywhere you want, view over/beside the nose, and still have a xhair that's in the perfect place.
