-You are 1.41 times more propable to get kill in M3 than in C.202
-What uber Yak? Time before it was uber Typhoon...
-P-47D fares pretty well, maybe good pilots?

A good refinement of those statistics would be to subtract from them the [Type] vs. [Same Type] numbers.

Wow! The FW190A5 pilots have made an impressive start after only a week in action!
So have the Jug pilots after a weekend...

Uber thats funny (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
One of the things I love about Aces High is that I don't find any of the planes to be uber.
No matter what I'm flying I don't fear any other particular aircraft I might come upon in the arena. They all have there strengths and they all heve their weakness that can be exploited by a patient attacker.

Those stats mean nothing as far as I'm concerned and this is why:
When a field is vulched, I grab my niki and go up till I die, usually I can't even take off. But when I fly my beloved and long awaited P47 I fly it to survive, so I don't goof around.
So applying ur stats type to me, the P47 is an ubber ride compared to the Niki who is nothing than a flying coffin.
Maybemost people who fly the F4U-C B&Z only and run when needed not to die. And why am I participating to this whining anyway? geez, i do silly things in the morning (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
oh and I second Sharky, same feelings.
Salute all!!!

Raw stats really don't tell you much, do they?
You don't know WHO is doing most of the killing in a particular plane. It might be a relatively small percentage of "good" pilots flying one type exclusively.
You don't know the ATTITUDE of guys flying a particular plane. Some guys fly to live and some guys just fly to shoot. Some guys change attitudes day to day, camp to camp.
Raws stats also highlight a plane's basic popularity. It may have lots of kills because it gets flown the most in the arena.
In short, while the above data is interesting, it only skims the surface in showing what's going on.

Yeah, the yak's low because I've been using it for ack strafing. Actually once you get used to it, it's not bad at it.

Ripsnort, and thanks (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). The 'boys' have been 'teaching' me the facts of life in AH - Hangtime, MajorTom, Lefto7, and most of JG2 have been toying rather roughly with me. They don't find me much of a challenge. LOL, I just added up all the kills in Jochen's stats and they show that 84446 aircraft have been shot down in the past 3 weeks in the MA. Wonder how that stacks up to the RL conflict - I would guess at least 6 months of RL late war action! Aren't we a busy bunch.....
Projecting this FW190A5 kill rate of 1 week to the 3 week period of this tour to date, the A5 would have about 16,000 kills if it had been available from the begining of the tour!!! I realize this is an over-simplification, but never-the-less its very clear that the era of the FW190 has begun.
to all the AH boys and girls, after 3 weeks on-board I'm very impressed with the level of talent in this community, as well as the friendliness - even if we do blast each other down at these prodigious rates!

One of my former accounts takes credit for 3/4 of all those 202 kills (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I just wanna know who the dude is racking up the kills in the C47.
Betcha theres a party in that plane.

1944. 26100 ac destroyed east and west front.

subtract my 500 kills and 81 deaths from the P-38L K/D and its ratio turns out to be:
.78
the B-17 is more survivable than the P-38L

Seems to me the Spit might not have the best K/D ratio but sure as hell has the largest overall number of kills.. why's that you think?
-
Hhhmm you should at least devide the total kills by the number of planes.
Then the designer competition looks likes this:
Yanks: 4665
Brits: 4367
Nips: 4350
Trax: 2987
Krauts: 2525
Macci: 1738
Rusky: 1200
If you would account for a standard devation based on the amount of planes in a set, then the Nips would take 2nd place with 2 devations over the Brits and the rest would stay the same
Flame away!

Not relevant, but I'm pretty sure Jochen should get the award for 'Most disturbing-sounding topic'...

For me started in February, when I joined JG2 and Rip and Weazel showed me how to use the A8 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Is curious how the 190 nuts as me keep flying Fw190A8 50% the time. Zigrat killed me yesterday with a 190A8, And I am quite sure that Hblair if takes a 190 will be really tempted by A8.
Why?...masoquism I guess (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif). For me,A8 has way better weapons and is faster on the deck. That doest overcome the better maneouverability of the A5 but what the hell, A8 was my trusted ride for 5 months and I love it!. And now that everybody respects Fw190 its easier to survive in A8 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Now in the topic of this thread...well I never pay attention to statistics. As someone said, you might use a plane for base defence and other to do normal missions (not me , I use 190 for EVERYTHING! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)). So its inevitable that some planes will have more deaths that others, only because they riskier use.

Ram;
Weren't you the guy that almost had a premature ejaculation when the A-5 came out?
LOL (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I seemed to remember saying at that time and few other times "It's the guns, It's the guns".

Mino, I love Fw190A5...but I still fly a lot Fw190A8. Half my sorties more or less. And many of the sorties I fly in A5 are from capped fields (Ask Blitz, as he got my poor prettythang kicked some times yesterday night (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)) And in disadvantage.
Fw190A5 makes me get too greedy, as I can pull more than in A8. THe net result is that I lose too much energy in it. In A8 I manage my E better and I fly wiser. Plus I have 15mph more low on the deck and that helps A LOT!.
Plus...I like A5...but I LOVE A8!
Said that...yes...my underwear is still in the laundry after "that" (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I wonder how many of these kills are against ground vehicles?
Maybe we should separate the stats for that. Separate air to air stats and also have air to ground kills.
Might really change the numbers. I think I'd also take kills of a C-47 out of the a2a stats. It's a lot different setting up on an undefended gooney than a defended buff.
Just some thoughts.
