Thinking of getting one to try. Oculus is out because I need to see outside my home/TV.
They advertise working in AH 2, so will it work in AH 3?
Thank you any feedback. :old:

Yes Track IR works with AH.

Thank you!

I love mine...tried flying without it and still kept turning my head. I got the attachment for it to go on my headset instead of wearing a hat. You can check around on the BBS people have put different profiles up for people to try.

I loved TIR, took a bit of getting used to, but well worth while. Would have stuck with it but using Rift now.

Lol I turn my head too whenever I'm watching someone's films or video that doesn't use it.
It never works!

Works excellently with AH3 - also IMO it allows a pilot to combine the hats/hotas views with TrackIR, giving you the ability to use TrackIR in game, but also "fall back" on using the thumbhat/keyboad views if you need to as well. This is how I use Tir5 still, as I find in VR I'm not as accurate a shot, and thus still prefer to be in TrackIR. Heh, new 4k 144hz Gsync monitors have been sited, and will be out in 10 days or less...can't wait to use TrackIR with AH3 in 4k on a 27" Gsyn unit running at 144hz (if a 1080ti or TitanXP can push Ah3 to 144fps/hz in 4k..we'll see, heh).
TL:DR, HTC has done one of if not the best TrackIR (and VR) implementations in the sim gaming world. You won't regret getting TrackIR, that is a guarantee to anyone.

since the last update mine won't recognize the game, anyone have any ideas?
-
you wont regret getting one. get the extra reflector it works a lot better specially with your headset. I've been using mine for over 5 years and now i cant fly without it.

Do a DXDIAG output and check it to see if the device is listed there. Also note, there was a Windows 10 update issued around the time of the last patch which might be causing the problem as well.

Guncrasher...I use TrackIR clip but I don't know what the "extra" reflector is that you mentioned.
Can you shed some light on that?
-
Guncrasher...on further reflection you are probably referring to the pro version that emits the light. Sorry, my mistake.
-
that's the one. the extra 40 bucks is worth it

I just got a TrackIR 5 with the pro clip and I've been flight-testing it and playing around some with the configuration.
I really like it, but as people have mentioned in other threads, you end up wanting to re-center often. I can do that with with F12, but I haven't been able to get 'TrackIR re-center' mapped to a joystick button in AH. I can re-center with a joystick button in the TrackIR, um, demo program -- but in AH even once I un-map the button I want it doesn't seem to get picked up as the re-center command.
Any insights?

following up on my last post: I hadn't associated the TrackIR "profile" I set up with joystick button centering with Aces High in the TrackIR application list.
Once I did that, everything worked like a charm.
