Title: Custom M-8 with sand bags as used in WW2

The sand bags would make it more resistant to HE rounds hitting the ground or pintle fire
from gv's disabling it so quickly.  :salute

My.  That is an impressive piece of work.

Heck, I've seen real M-8s that don't look that good.

Yeeeeaaaaah.....about those sandbags.  They did little to stop any German tank shell but provided the front crew protection from other fragment projectiles including Panzerfaust and near shells exploding in front of the tanks - sandbags were also used inside on the floors of the M-8's by the front crew for protection against anti-tank mines.[1]

Let's face it, the M-8 did nothing to protect the crew against any enemy tank, but provided excellent protection against infantry units and because of their speed to probe and recon enemy lines.

They have these up armored vehicles already in game.  They are called tanks.  :aok   Speed and light armor or heavy armor and slow speed...

were the sandbags not also a minor psychological "assist" to the crew?  A result of tank crews realizing that there pretty much wasn't anything protecting them?

+10 to the builder/painter of that thing, great detail!

You all did not read the Ops comments. Try again. He did not mention direct HE hits or AP hits, he is referring to collateral damage from close HE rounds and .50 cal. hits.

They did not see my text under the picture. I should have used bigger letters.   :lol

A Panzerfaust HEAT ammunition will get right through the poor thing, sandbags or not.

So are the rockets on the M4, what is your point? Besides disagreeing.

Guess the M24 wouldn't be a good upgrade compromise at 34mph max speed and a 75mm gun.

Not sure where I read it, but the Rocket addition was a field mod., now it may have been a Factory mod initiated by a field mod.

That kind of falls under the B-25C/D strafer version kits. They were sent to Australia and done at a base there then sent back to the combat squadrons.

No H came direct from the factory.
The G model was a field mod.

+1 on the H as a factory mod - they also moved the dorsal turret just behind the flight deck, added two 50 more cals, lighter 75mm and gave the navigator single controls at his station. And no co-pilot...

The B-25G (only 400 25C's were converted) was basically a 25C, with more armour plating, more fuel capacity, and was slightly heavier. Mods were done at operational locations instead of retiring the C outright.
