What triggers this the alert; presence in the sector, radar, or distance from my position? Thanks in advance.

This sound is played when any friendly base anywhere comes under a new attack (starts to flash).

I ask because tonight, while searching for GVs with town flashing and (I think the base not flashing), the alert sounded while near town during the search. Just wasn’t sure if a GVs spawning would cause it without flashing the base.

Yepp, it can be annoying to hear when you're the one attacking and the only base flashing within a few sectors is the enemy one.

It is the most annoying thing ever invented turn it off and you will enhance your game experience. It really serves no purpose at all.

He said DEFEND not rearend :uhoh :devil One thing to remember...IF you turn the sound down for WARNINGS in PREFERENCES....this ALSO turns down the "`" key automated Check Six. So dont start cussing about no one giving you a check six :x

Perhaps Check-6 should have it's own volume slider, since it is a player controlled sound.
