Title: Structure damage
Post by: toddbobe on May 30, 2018, 02:09:53 PM
Question for the community or for Skuzzy:

Lets say I take a 110 and strafe a hanger, but not kill it, then either get shot down or auger. How long will that damage last?

Todd

If I understand things right, it'd be 7 1/2 minutes?

Wiley.

All partial damage lasts half unmodified downtime of the object. Object downtimes can be reviewed in arena setup, objects.

The damage to your 110 is permanent and you have to get another.

As far as damage in reality, you would have to check a mirror. As usual YMMV.

But doesn't all damage, short of destruction, start to repair as time passes?  I know that if I hit a hanger with two one thousand pound bombs and 5 rockets from a P38L that the hanger will be destroyed.  I have also learned that if I screw up on the pass on the hanger and  only put the bombs on target and return some 6 or 7 minutes later and try to take the hanger down with only 5 rockets, that hanger will stay up until some additional ords are placed on target.  It's as if some of the damage has been repaired.

I tried an offline test where I made objects destroyable or whatever. I used a tank with rockets and shot down the vh to find out how many rockets and confirm a 15 minute down time than I went over to a fighter hanger and shot it with just one less than the number needed waited, 7 minutes and fired off the last one, hanger came down.

It looks like the times are set that way to keep bomb and bailers from benefiting from ultra gamey behavior.

In AH2 shooting the trucks in the supply convoy added to the down time, not sure if it impact the damaged buildings.

Sort of.  Hangers are on a clock, other buildings like ammo bunkers can be effected by resupply.
