Nothing terribly original here probably, some of these have been asked for since early on, but these are my top 3 picks:
- Fiat G55: One of a very few planes that could be added that would be probably be able to do well in the MA. Helps flesh out the Italian planeset, which is the least represented of all major countries in WW2 in AH. The C.205 does very well, and I think the G55 would be even better based on the specs I have seen. Besides Italian fighter planes are just beautiful, like Ferrari's of the air!
- P-61 Black Widow: Would be formidable even if they didn't add any night fighter functionality (working radar, etc). Four 20mm cannons, and option to carry four .50s in top turret would be arguably the most potent firepower of any fighter in game given the ballistics and ammo load. Some versions could top 400 mph which would be competitive with many late war fighters. It was supposedly very agile for it's size, and with two radial engines would be very tough. Could also carry a very heavy bomb load. I think it would be used a lot for ground attack and killing bombers mostly, but there would probably be fighter pilots that specialize in it, such as we see now with the P-38, Mosquito, Bf-110, and even the Me-410.
- Fiat CR-42: Would probably be most maneuverable fighter in game. Would be only biplane in main arena. Very useful for base defense and in the furball. Compared to other possible biplanes that could be added (Gladiator, CR-32, HS-123, etc) it is faster, possibly tougher, and better armed (two 12.7 mg's). This would also help flesh out the Italian planeset, would be useful in many historical scenarios, and would be different and interesting compared to most anything else that could be added.

Good wishes, +1

P-61 would be neat, but it would be limited to a 363mph top speed. The 400+mph versions didn't come about until after the war.
Its real balance problem would be its 6400lb bomb load coupled with with its air-to-air capability.

Another possible Biplane is the I153.
They made a lot of variants and even pressurized cockpit versions in higher numbers than the entire TA152 production.
-
Beaufighter before any of those. Served from beginning to end, and all theaters of the war. Multi role as well.

Ahem ..... all the above comes way after ......

The B-26 and Ki-61 were updated before Ah3 went live.
The Tempest is still AH1 vintage.
