Title: GV tracks left in the ground!
Post by: DLXIRON on June 09, 2018, 01:45:17 PM

I would love to see the GVs leaving tracks behind them for say 300-500 feet.  I think this would add a lot to the game play seeing as it would be a fair trade off to the guys who sit and hide in the bushes for hours at a time.  We would have some clue of your whereabouts and would be able to hunt you down.  As it is now if you dont happen to see what direction the round came from that killed you, you are going to die multiple times before you lucky enough to stumble across them.  I think this one feature would keep the GVs up and moving and having to work a lot harder to hide out.  Also if we had enemy icons turned off to aircraft this would make it a bit more realistic for them to find us and bomb us.  As it is now having the neon sign floating above us with our range and direction information is a bit ridiculous.  Our only real defense is to run in 2D at about 25MPH, that is a pretty lopsided encounter.  At least now they would have to work a bit harder to kill us.

Tracks last for 30 min

Tankers can  drive in single file to hide their numbers like Tusken Raiders.  :D

Yes but it could perhaps be a realistic replacement for the gv dar

Personally I think it would be a fantastic alternative to the GV dar if they could do it without knocking everybody's FR into the dirt.

I don't know how hard it would be on framerate, but I think as long as they were a finite length, like say 1000 yards or so, and disappeared when the guy died, it might not be that bad.  If it were me, I might even consider no icons, just tracks for GVs.

Of course the crying from the tankers that don't want to interact with any enemy aircraft would be the stuff of legend.

Wiley.

a gv could leave a set of track prints, then carefully back track through those same prints.........that could be fun.

All I want is some more realistic solutions than arcade solutions (GV radar, GV icons)!

Hey that was me in the M3!

And this is the maximum mayhem I can create with a LVT
I managed to track the first tank to spawn and that created a pile up of sorts.

then some truly Bizarre Buckaroo Banzai 8th dimension type stuff happened.  I'll post the youtube link because it's a little too long to make a GIF of it.  My LVT was equipped with some form of hyperthruster capable of interdimensional travel.  The LVT that HiTech issued me that sortie must have been used the Philledeliphia experiment beforehand.

The tracks should catch on fire if you hit 88 mph.

I think you're confusing Buckaroo Bonzai with Back to the Future
