See Rule #4
-
I played wot once a few years ago but didn't like the x-ray vision / red outline they used to make tanks visible in cover and behind things.
I like the look of wot but hate the game play and pay to win or grind to win aspect.
I understand the graphic limitations with our huge maps but wot graphics in ah3 would be the best of both worlds.
-
WoT also arbitrarily changes things to "balance" gameplay tiers rather than the AH system of setting a standard and letting folks use or defend against it as they see fit. WoT is also pay to win half the time and a progress-grind where you pay to bypass months of grind.
Not to mention the whole... you know... doesn't compare in any way, shape, or form type of thing.
-
WoT is fun if you accept it as arcade. I played for a couple years via Xbox. Once you realize the 'balance' is skewed and you're forced into certain styles of gameplay to 'win' I lost interest. AH has much more freedom, which is why I am here after leaving Air Warrior 20 years ago :aok
-
WoT is extremely toxic. That is the reason I've had chat off for years.
With AH, Roy and Dale will NOT deal with that kind of behavior. So people know their place and keep their lips closed.
-
lol WoT; best moment I've had:
Team mate throws out some horrible chat remarks that needn't be repeated. Ever.
Myself and 4 other players immediately team kill the player at match start. Player gets upset and our entire team chastised the player for inappropriate behaviour and educated them on the fact that free speech doesn't mean free from consequences. :devil
It was almost heartwarming. made me feel like some people still give a dang about "social boundaries".
-
WOT, I feel bad even admitting I played that for awhile.
-
I hear Sony has the rights to produce the movie....oh wait, my bad, different WoT. :bolt:
-
I finally figured out (memory not so good) after playing AH and WoT that
the players of both games, are for the most part, are vastly different AND similar
in some ways.
WoT seems to attrack a lot of bigots unlike AH
I really have know idea why but I still play WoT as an a diversion from
AH... just a thought :salute
I think your thoughts would have better kept to yourself...just saying

One of the squad members of POTW is a hardcore tanker. He plays WoT and described it as great graphics and nice terrain but, the players are gigantic dorks compared to the GVers in our game. I used "dorks" becasue his real word won't make it trough the text filter here and in the game and fortunately for him we were on squad channel.
They have great object graphics and terrain, I suspect that means a well paid design team. I found instructive insight to real world themed GV terrain at the polygon level watching hours of WoT video as research. Not much you can do to terrain if you are working to create a real world scenario versus a Quake Tourney tank toy world. I watched some great video of North African adobe villages setup like Quake Tourney maze arenas though. Bet that is what Waffle was hoping for with the AH3 town and Euro tile set terrain villages. The biggest difference between our games is AH does not force you into a limited area combat arena so most of our combat is sneak and try and shoot from long range by the majority of average tank players. AH does not force players with a tiny arena and no place to run from better players or superior numbers. Both do use some form of tank DAR.

AH does not have the cloaking device for tanks.

both games are good in my opinion and both very addicting. The aiming system in tanks is not realistic at all and i guess you can say the same about not being able to see the tank unless it is spotted by someone but being able to using buildings and side scrap and angle your armor to bounce shots use the terrain to be hull down for high turrent armored tanks is realistic. The aiming system in aces high is realistic but you cant side scrap and use your armor. as far the the toxic community goes yes tanks is toxic but they dont have chat filter and they dont punish the bad apples so yes it is bad but you can turn the text off so you can take care of that problem. im glad i play both because i have alot of fun if i wanna fly hands down im on aces high if i feel like GVing i play tanks.
if anyone plays world of tanks and wants to platoon _Biggamer_ is my handle over there i have 39-40 thousand battles on my service record if it helps finding me <<S>>

You can go hull down in AH. While the general terrain is pretty coarse leading to fewer hull down possibilities, the square objects, like towns, fields, cities, strats, can, and do, have much higher topographical resolution. Also, I was under the impression that AH did indeed take into account the angle of the armor in relation to the incoming round; is that not true? Finally, what does "side scrape" mean?

From information I gathered, you can angle your armor to help protect yourself from incoming projectiles.

We really do not want our forum to be used as a base for disparaging players in another game.
