Been stalking the forums over the years commenting here and there always wondering how the game is nowadays? I got off when life took priority and it seemed to get a bit quiet. How is the game population doing nowadays? We back to 600 pop in ma on a busy night? I miss those days when fighting for your base felt lik fighting for your life lol.

Welcome back! Im sorry to say the glory days of 600, even 300 players on at a time are gone. At the time of this post we have 138 in the MA right now.
Bad news is the numbers ARE down. Good news is you can still fight the type of fighting you like. The problem is that that type of fun is spread out time wise. Some times of days the base takers rule, other times its furballer, other times its strat runners.
The game is still the great game it always was but with the numbers being much lower the "lame" game play seems to stand out more. In the old days you might find a bunch of HOers and runners. You move to another section of the map and you could find a fight more to your liking. Today not so much. With a 6 hour switch side limit jumpin sides doesnt help the issue much either.

its not quite dead yet, 2008-2011 were the glory years for AH now there is too much competition and choice.
few things could be done to improve things like #1 remove 6hour switch. :devil
remove resupply for town buildings :D
remove downtime commands (a little fog of war helped things be a little less predictable) :bolt:
add some new awesome fighter aircraft. :airplane:

I must protest bruv. The glory years were between somewhere in 1999 and somewhere in 2008: The game was consistantly growing.

15 bucks is cheap.
Do you work for free?

and get rid of 15 a month subscription. That is the biggest thing.
There it is!!!!
Noone wants to pay for anything anymore...Free free free...That's the word of the moment...If it's not free people don't want to play it... I'm so poor I can't pay attention and still come up with the 15 bucks a month to play this game and have for over 13 years...

That’s just another example of a mindless drone stuck in the current rut of no consequences for anything. Wake up to reality before biggest thing runs you over.
-
It's really the psychology of it. If I told people that I have spent over $2000 in the 12 years I've played this. They'd probably call me crazy.
I agree with most of Bruvs points.

Anyone wanting to get rid of the 15 bucks a month.. you are all welcome to come over to my home once a week and do the lawn work. I have a few other chores you free folks might can do also.

If a product is free to a consumer, the consumer is the product.
