Title: Ndisles map
Post by: lunatic1 on July 14, 2018, 03:40:10 PM
I wish for the spawns on this map to be a teeny bit closer to the bases-they are just a bit to far.
no other map has spawns this far from a base

Please move the gv spawns closer. There is more instant action.

Respectfully requesting.

Just surveyed NDisles. The terrain builder used 5 miles as his standard for the distance from the vehicle entry point object to either the map room or the center of the airfield object. The terrain editor has a tool that sets a circle from the center of objects like that based on inputting a radius distance in miles. The only none conforming places are the two spawn areas on the center island to the SW and SE. I suspect becasue the island is an odd shape.

Is this more specifically about the knights attempt to re-take A2 from A1 and the GV entry points between those two feilds over the weekend? Greebo does some long entry points on CraterMA and you are not wishing them to be changed.

If you have ever bothered to survey terrains in rotation, they have spawns 2.5 to 5 miles which are acceptable distances given to terrain builders to use over the years. Quite a bottleneck at the A1-A2 spawn area which probably made it hard to sneak in M3 the capture A2. Around the time I was finishing up Oceania Hitech mentioned he likes bottlenecks for GV combat. That's how the terrain ended up with bridges.

Lunatic why don't you start building terrains and stop trying to have Hitech butcher existing ones.

Yeah luni. Do not post a wish unless you plan on building a map. The fact you are paying customer who is trying to enjoy a game means nothing

NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO BUILD A MAP AND DO NOT GIVE A FLYING FARTTLE HOOT ABOUT EVER DOING IT. QUIT COMING IN PEOPLES WISH TELLING THEM TO BUILD A MAP. ITS OLD AT THIS POINT.

This post is disingenuous becasue it was a specific spawn trying to capture A2 back from A1 on NDisles. Not a matter of how all spawns on the terrain were laid down by the original creator. This is smoke and mirrors. I watched the A2-A1 battle and heard the whines on VOX. So what, the spawns for A1-A2 were laid down specifically as a choke point tank spawn camp fight and M3s had to drive 7 miles to try and take A2 becasue no c47 would ever make it in with all the fighter defense and a simple delivery to a map room on a field. The A1 spawn allowed M3 a fast run at A1 a super large field which is almost impossible to capture without a dedicated super hoard.

The two other setups had the spawns between the shore line fields and interior feilds laid down completely differently to not mirror the two other combat areas. Regardless of the direction the spawn arrow is pointing, the two other combat areas have approximately the same spacing after you spawn in. The ground at all three locations is dissimilar. You can up NDISles offline and enable CMEye mode and look at those topography. The designer setup the spawns based on how the local topography would effect tank combat.

Lunitic want's something on a terrain once again castrated becasue it was inconvenient to him and it was purpose designed to be inconvenient to create the situation that resulted. The paying customer argument can become specious quickly since most tankers want all spawns on a 500ft hill looking down on airfields and air to air guys want air spawns all over the place. You want fire and forget smart bullets and aimbots along with those fries.....

I see no where that luni says that. Your assumption is that and that only. I think the spawns are horrible and I have no idea about a1 or a2. I do know that it’s hard to get m3s into them whether it be troops or resupp. I know I tried to resupp a field after a take and it seemed forever

You could have easily just said the spawns are 5k blah blah with out turning your map making crown towards the sun for all of us to see it glistening in the overcasted light.

This post is disingenuous

I am amazed how one can pontificate upon a subject with no direct knowledge of Lunatics true feelings. Maybe, just maybe, and I realize this idea is way out there.....Lunatic was "Wish"ing for the spawn points to be a little closer. Perhaps the spawn points are too far apart for "him". I didn't read anything disingenuous or pickup on his ideology of trying to castrate anything.

However, after reading the post backwards, I was able to break Luny's code and see that he is creating a secret society called the "Lunatinadi" and is conspiring against all map makers past & present. . . . . . .cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo

Coogan

You are one of the super sneaky goon pilots.

I've stumbled upon your landed goon completely by accident when I panned around my view from the top of a hill in town and walked over to bust some caps.
