It's late July, 1944. With beachheads now secured for the past month, allied forces are slowly pushing east against the sparse but incredibly difficult and stubborn German forces.  Canadian, British, and American armies are marching towards their goal of the German capital by Christmas, though Patton thinks it will be spring time 1945 before they enter Berlin. Up north, Operation Market Garden planning is in full swing, with first boots on the ground by mid-September with Montgomery leading that ground charge and Brereton commanding the air support. Patton still thinks Montgomery has his hands full with Rundstedt and Model leading the effective German forces in the Netherlands. Losses are mounting in the tank space - the Sherman tanks are no match for the heavy German iron of the Wehrmacht - with a 5 to 1 US/German tanks radio the only factor levelling the playing field.

Some most excellent fights in there this night, against the UL crowd.  Getting back into the no-icon groove.  Thanks to UniBall for giving the Allies a second target.

Could anyone give some time frame when AvA is likely to be most populated? Have checked this out but no joiners so far during my most usual gaming time frame of 15:00 to 20:00 UTC. Did some staged missions with icons turned off and was pretty interesting.

Please keep this set up the entire month, as it was Aug 5th!  Keep changing the arena, and it will remain empty.  If you absolutely have to change something, then give us rolling plane sets like the old days.   :rock

Heh.  Yes, I forgot, you got a couple of oldman pelts for yourself.  Congrats on flying a jug, seemed like all the others were in 51s.

Yeah 51's and 38-L's  I was surprised how well the Jug does in there, versus the MA  :salute

As I have preached for years, with no-enemy-icons settings, real world tactics suddenly make sense.

Area is reloaded and also ready for Tank-Night. North Eastern France has some fantastic vehicle base positions for possible battles.

Yes, yes, I love playing an air war game... in tanks.  Said no pilot ever.  :rofl :rofl
