Title: Another All Seeing Eye Story
Post by: RODBUSTR on August 03, 2018, 09:09:28 PM
The only thing I do like about the All Seeing Eye Radar is I have  something to shoot at when I up a buff, but some lack any sense of fair play and will use what ever they can  to not being shot down recorded.  I up a trio of Liberators   and 2 rook fighters immediately come my way from 60 to 75 miles out. So I'm on climb out at about 18k and they  intercept.  2 M jugs and I blast one good and It pulls out and starts to dive away and the other roars in on My 6 and I shoot it to pieces.  The first one got  my drones . It was skischill and the other I ko was nikkos.   skischill lands off map and waits over 30 minutes for his team mates to intercept me. I ran out of ammo and got ko.  It is laughable that skishill would fly off map and wait.  My plan was to  refuel and go shoot ko him with B24 guns.  Thanks to the All Seeing Eye and ……… Well I won't call it dishonest..... maybe dishonorable play .   That kind of fun is available to all subscribers.....  Have a blast.   Really, The All Seeing Eye makes Bufftarding a lot funner.

Waiting out a kill, be it killer or killed, is hardly new.  #Newsflash

I wasn't saying waiting out a landing or ko was new...   Tracking a bomber all over the map and sending numerous fighter sorties against you so one doesn't get a ko recorded  is...     Keep on trolling.

We have all done that.  I've had a bomber damage me and not been able to hit him enough to score a victory.  I ditch and roll again, vectoring other fighters in before I break contact.   I will wait on the ground for someone to finish the kill or roll and try to bring the guy down.

As it should.

Your bomber sortie time doesnt hurt your stats, so in this case you just land on the runway and wait him out.  If he towers you get the kill, if he doesnt, his kill/hr keeps going down.  And if he isnt towering he cares about his scores somewhat.

Putting score above fun is what is ruining the sim.

Not necessarily. Achieving self defined goals can be fun. And score provides an additional feel-good (feel superior) component, by being able to rank highly in a whatever category, compared to others. For that analysis one just has to ignore that others may not care at all, and up at vulched fields to defend, prioritize killing the goon even if ending up at a disadvantage, or fly lesser planes.

Make no mistake, the same can be set when field captures are the self-defined goal. The opponents simply might not care, and leave fields undefended. Or worse, may make them look like they are defendend, creating a false sense of security for their country-men.

This works much much better in typical korean grinding games, or world of warcraft. Everyone can be the hero, or at least advance in some way. In AH it works because everyone is trying to reach their own goals.

I wish scoring was private, not public, with only the tour winners in each category posted.   Or a checkbox to hide mine if I choose.   My scoring is a personal benchmark.   I’ve gone from X to Y over Z time period so I’ve either improved or gotten worse.    I don’t care to share that with the world.

A career score might go a long way to moderating some impulses that can cause timidity.

I'm sure Cybro hates his icon being displayed where he parks his plane in the trees.

I'm sure Cybro gets a similar number of proxies with people trying to kill him than what randomly happend before.

If you look at today's top 50 ranked players of this tour, none of them play for score and they all fight. Half the time my squad mate Monster0 is at "1" and he does nothing special except fight in every ride category. I'm thinking "score" has become a convenient way to accuse other customers of backhanded cowardliness for not playing this game your way. If score even mattered anymore Hitech would not have removed the tour rankings from the front page.

Playing for score actually helps you really improve on being better at the game. Using the #s as metrics to guide your effectivness. Score adds a competitive aspect to the game.

I love the fact that the score changes every month. Gives others a chance to reach the top. Gives you a fresh start every month.

It's just another thing that players can strive to accomplish in the game.

:aok While I dont really play for score...it does give me something to focus on. Right now..its the Attack Scores. Lately.. top 40 or so in "Kill points" and K/D with a sub 80 or so in total score. Thats without milk running in A20 to lift damage per sortie...Not saying folk do this..but my CO would...just to eek out a closer Attack score  :rofl
