Bf 109G-14 (AS) flown by Heinz Zimmermann of 6./Jg 27 in August 1944. At this time, II/Jg 27 was based at Fels am Wagram, Austria. Zimmermann was shot down and killed August 23, 1944 over St. Pölten, Austria.

This aircraft features the green tailband Jg 27 adopted in 1944 for "Defense of the Reich" operations. It also has its main wheels and undercarriage painted red to indicate to ground crewmen that it was fitted with the DB 605A S(M) engine, requiring high octane C3 fuel.
