Title: Awful Framerates
Post by: superpug1 on August 08, 2018, 10:37:22 AM
Hey all, trying to get back into gaming. Haven't played for a bit. I cant seem to get much over 19-22 fps with graphics backed all the way off. AH seems to only recognize the intel intigrated graphics with 128 mb. It makes no sense to me why I cant crank on up to atleast the middle settings with shadows and shading turned on. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 Specs as follows:
i7-6700 (2.6ghz), 8 gb ram, GeForce GTX960M (4gb display mem), 4k display.

You need to tell your computer to use the NVidia card as the default for gaphics/games.

That should do the trick for you.

You may also want to degrade the game resolution to 1920x1080. The 960M isn't too good for 4K gaming.

Nice catch Bizman, yes, the 960M will struggle at 4K resolution.

I appreciate the help. Great customer service even after all these years ;).

I ended up having to download a new driver. There was an issue with the last one that got pushed out with my laptop apparently. Then I dropped the resolution down to 1920x1080, put most of the settings to middle of the road, and set the dedicated graphics as the primary. I can get around 50 fps just cruising around, but it drops down pretty low with ack and other planes around. I'll keep playing with it.
