Title: TOD Rules?
Post by: Midnight on November 04, 2001, 10:34:00 AM
For the Philippines..

1. If pilot goes down, can they up a PT?

2. If pilot goes down, can they get a gunner position on a fleet ship?

3. If pilot goes down, can they gun for someone else?

4. Will I, as Frame CO have control of the TG waypoints?

No One life event.

2. If pilot goes down, can they get a gunner position on a fleet ship?
No because we have had many complaints about the 5" guns being used against AC

3. If pilot goes down, can they gun for someone else?
I have no problem with a pilot gunning for a buff.  :)

4. Will I, as Frame CO have control of the TG waypoints?
Yes, but not the placement, (starting point).  :)

Hope this helps.

Along the lines of moving the fleets...

Will the setup CM tell us what the windspeed and direction is so that the carriers can be pointed into the wind?  Last time we had a carrier TOD frame, there was a stiff wind across the ship, and it caused numerous crashes.  Carrier planes love nice winds, but only when pointed into them.   :)

Got another question for this TOD that I have not seen an answer for yet.

I know the event is a one life event and that you can land and rearm but how the heck do you rearm on CV without getting out and replaning?

On base you simply go the white grid .. is there something similar on the CVs that I have overlooked?

Or are the CVs going to be allowed to launch planes while the land bases will be shut down by the CM?

You can land and rearm on the CV.  Catch any of the wires and you are on the rearming pad.

If you miss the wires you have to back up too them.....

Can do nifty, but I will ask skernsk and sling to keep the winds calm, (no winds). In time we can add winds, but I like to keep it simple. If there are winds the Setup CM must note them in the message of the day when people log in to the SEA.

if you don't know how to back up after landing (or when spawning) make sure your tail hook is back up, then ever so gently apply a little throttle.  You have to play with it to find the point where you'll roll backwards on the deck.  I actually had to play with my deadband and dampening on the throttle to get to where I'd roll backwards, so you might have to do that as well if you can't seem to get it going rolling.

thx, dd.  Just didn't want to hear about a repeat of our last CV launch where we lost 5 planes into the conn tower.   :(

Another quick question .. the JU88 is substituting for the Betty in this TOD. With this in mind I am assuming that they can not be loaded out with Torps but must take bombs. Is this assumption correct?

I did a quick google search and found several sources that Betty's had the capability of loading torpedo's.  I am waiting for a final decision form the "boss" about whether they will be allowed the option of using torpedo's or not.

Ju-88 can carry torps. Allies need to watch high and low.
