Hey yipi,

Click on the "profile" link between the search and my messages links at the top of the forum page

After you click on the profile link, click on the Modify profile then in the drop down menu click on forum profile

Hope this helps

If you want to insert an image to your post, clicking the Insert Image icon is part of it. You'll get img and /img in brackets. What you need to do next is to type/paste the url of the image between the two imgs. It can link to an image in the Internet as long as there's no copyright issues, or you can have a web storage like Imgur for your own images.

Some forums like this one also have the attachments enabled. If you want to add images here, you can upload them directly from your computer. By default they'll appear as downloadable attachments, but if you modify your post you can copy the location of the attachments and paste them between img brackets! In your post right click the attached image link and "copy link location". For multiple links it might help to use one browser tab for modifying and another for the readable post since you only can copy-paste one link at a time.

LOL I still find it so funny watching techheads try to explain simple stuff to non techheads.  You guys confused the crap out of me and I have an IT degree!!

Yipi.  You need to make sure your picture is stored on the internet.  There are many sites that will let you do that.

In order to get it on to the forum you need to understand bbcode (bulletin board code).  It is actually quite simple.  Here is a guide https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode (https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode)

There is a section in there that explains how the [ img] [ /img] tags work.  On this board there are icons you can click on to help but all they do is create the tags, you need to put the URL link in the middle of them for it to work.

Will only take you 10 minutes and you will understand it all.

First the image has to be stored on a server.

Option 1) There are forums that allow you to upload your image to our servers and then link to it there.  Simply click on the "Attachments and other options" link at the bottom of the edit box, where you create your post.  If the option to store the image is available in that forum, then you will see an "Attach:" option including a "Browse" button.

Option 2) Use a third party to host the image and upload it there.

Now that you have the image stored on a server.  You need to grab a link to it.

If you used "Option 1" the link will be available AFTER you make your post.  It will show as an attachment in your post.  Right click on it and save the link location/URL.

If you used "Option 2" above, then you need to copy the link location from the site hosting the image.

Now that you are armed with the link, edit your post and click then (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Themes/Curved/images/bbc/img.gif) button (first button in the second row of buttons of the edit box).

You will note the editor places image start and end tags where your cursor was located in the edit box.  Between those two tags, paste your link into that.  When done, you can "Preview" the post and the image, if all went according to plan, will appear where you placed it in the post.  If it all looks good, then hit the "Post" button.

Hope that helps.
