Looks fun...until I looked for the price and found this little gem on their website:

"Typical cost of the basic model 4DOF Extreme is equal to middle class car."

Yeah, I considered the pricetag not so funny, too, but still.... this thing with a VR set is as close as it gets ....

Nope, it would screw up the accelerometers. You'd be unlikely to be able to use it with VR unless you could switch it to IR based tracking only.

I have the Next Level motion simulator. It works great with VR, the software compensates for the movement so it doesn't affect the headset. In AH it only follows the joystick movement not the aircraft orientation but it's still fun.
Also it's small and quiet and costs a bicycle instead of a car. You can use the motion base with your own cockpit and seat.

if we can crowdfund it and install it into zack1234's house.

I would pay good money to watch his first flight.

That's basically a hand cranked rocking chair.

The cost doesn't seem as bad if you consider what new fishing boats cost these days. I'll bet that people who buy this get to use it much more often than most people who spend the same or more on the boat.

Someone provide me with both items and I will make a chart tracking my usage of them  :old:

You don't want too much seat movement because you don't have radial g holding you in the seat. With a monitor it's not as good but with VR a little motion combined with the world view changing is very convincing.

For flight sims motion is perfect for helicopters since its mostly low g and right side up. Feeling your balance point makes helicopters easier to fly.

Driving is the most developed motion experience and the combination of VR, FFB, and motion is just amazing.

Your IR-based tracking would have to be securely mounted in the cockpit so that your movement can be accurately measured relative to the cockpit.

Here are a couple of pics. I can switch from the driving to flying setup in a minute without getting out of the chair. The flight throttle and stick move with the chair, the stick is removable without tools. The steering wheel also pops on and off. The flight pedals are velcroed in front of the driving pedals. I turned up the foot lighting for the pictures.

Well...you have been with VR for a long time, so wont argue your views about this  :rock  That being said..would having multiple sensors(enough to cover every motion of the accelerators)? From my experience, the Occulus sensors have a pretty big area of coverage. So the only issue I can think of...having enough USB3 ports?

I didn't see that, hand cranked. Looked like it was more of an stick input deal...with mechanical aides to give that effect. Not gonna argue..it isnt capable of NEG Gs if i read it correctly... Heck it maybe PERFECT for racing games. If I may ask an question or 2...How long have you had your Next Level Simulators? Do you have any draw backs when using it? I use VR, and this would be AWESOME
