The two green + + .... is the left the MG and the right the cannon?
Tnx!

Generally the cross showing the greatest lead will be the cannon. It might vary depending on range and convergence settings.

Keep in mind that offline all the fighters in the drone circle are flying about 225-250mph so other than angles under 30 degrees off, essentially shooting from the drone's 6. You will be learning snap shooting for an average speed 50-100mph slower than combat in the MA. Even 6 shooting at differences in elevation will be effected by this.
Hitech has never mentioned if he did this right out of the AAF fighter gunnery manuals for WW2 AAF state side training. But, those are the speeds training took place at and the optical gunsights used a 70Mil ring instead of the 100Mil the pilots would use in combat. The final chapter of the 1944 AAF manual for gunnery school states that once deployed to combat the pilot will have to be brought up to speed on the differences of combat speed and how to use the 100Mil ring to compensate.
Over the years I've watched a lot of players shoot late.

Does anybody have a training mission that has planes flying straight at higher speeds for practice?
Wiley.

I would think any mission would do,preferably a short one, then just turn on the LCG and have at it!
Max,usually the closer + is the MG's and the one further away is cannon,up a K4 and you'll see!

Will the + + sights vary according to convergence?

That's something I've wondered. Put another way, are those crosses saying "Put pipper here" or "Put bullets here"?
Wiley.

You put the gunsight on the cross for the guns you want to shoot. If you're aiming the cannon you'd put the gunsight on the cross furthest from a distant target. For machine guns you'd put the gunsight on the closer cross. You don't even need to shoot to benefit, you can just learn the correct sight picture for the speed and g load.

This will enable it,to turn on you need to press ctrl tab. then to change target plane press tab.

Also it's on by default in the Training Arena. As Morf said, just Ctrl-Tab to activate it, you'll see a text message, then TAB while looking at your target aircraft to lock it.

How does network lag figure into the training gun sites?
I know some nights I have to lead more than others

All your targets are shot on your computer. There is no network effect on lead. Network time of travel creates differences in the position of your target relative to the other computer but does not affect gunnery.
