Title: Capt. Frank Bertciel - P-51D "Miss Velma" (CY-D) - 55th FG, 343rd FS - AH3 Rev 1

An update to Capt. Bertciel's "Miss Velma" (original thread here: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,390551.0.html).   This one was my first orphan and really benefits from the things I've learned since I submitted it.   I am attempting in some measure to preserve the spirit of the original artist (Mus51/Dutchguy) where this skin is concerned.   Hopefully that shows.

I'm sticking with the yellow stripe, still.  I haven't completely abandoned the idea of it being red, but I'm relying upon Capt. Bertciel's testimony.   He insisted it was yellow, so that's good enough--for now.

The bottom two images lost some resolution in the upload.   Sorry.

Good job Vraciu, the lighting shows a nice contrast between the NMF and painted areas.

Thanks man.  I am still trying to figure some things out.   This one is more of a restoration than a complete makeover.   I wanted to keep it like Mus51’s original.   I was basically making a painting of a painting.   I succeeded in some ways, perhaps not so much in others.

Well thanks, but frankly, I learned from your work.   It’s amazing what you can pick up by studying a skin pixel by pixel.   I just tried to preserve the spirit of your original while making it look right in the game.   I’m still not sure I got the OD to look like it should.   

You did some good work.  Would love to see you come back in here and update your planes.   You can have this one back if you want it.  Just a thought.   :salute
