I couldn't turn down the nice weather  and my lovely wife watching the kids, giving me the day,(one of my very few off) to enjoy a solitary ride along the old Shawmut and Erie Railroad grades, in my area.  Equipped with printed out maps and GPS I took off, partially riding on a rails to trails project, and getting onto some of the more overgrown lines.  This weekend was just a trip to the old tannery location, and next weekend I am really looking forward to acting as a guide to a few friends to show them the over grown cemetery, which is mostly filled with men and boys ( boys by age only) that fought for the famed 13th Pennsylvania Resevre Regiment, better known as the Bucktails.  Will definitely be posting pictures of that.

I had a friend that use to do that as well. The rails he would bike were a bit more kept up though. Looks like a weed eater would be in order for these rails :uhoh They do have some great places you can see from them though.  :rock

I can get all the way to Olean New York 65 miles away if I get on the right grade.
