Some of us are already using WhatsApp to coordinate duelling in the Match Play Arena. Thought we might expand the idea a bit more and see if we can get it a bit more populated.
WhatsApp is a free communication app on smart phones. You can turn off notifications so it's not a bother unless you want to use it.
The idea is to say when you're in the MPA / available. Or even if you're in there and there are good fights going on. This saves a lot of waiting around doing nothing. Take it from someone who once did that for a solid week. Uniquely the MPA of course needs at least one opponent to work!
No one has moderator powers etc so going to have to ask people to be respectful of private phone numbers. Once you're added to the list everyone can see your number so there's obviously an element of trust involved. Using someone else's number to subscribe to the Sadie Stern monthly on-line Spankathon webpage is right out. Clear?
We can give it a try and see how it goes. Like I say the App is free. Anyone wants in, please download WhatsApp from the App Store & PM me your mobile numbers. I'll add you to the list with your callsigns.

I tried to suggest Discord for this type of stuff. One Discord server can have multiple rooms, chats, voice, etc but was frowned upon when I suggested an 'official' link.

Fantastic! Many thanks Bruv. I do need to secure a new mic as when Shida Jnr. was Tiny Shida he found my USB headset and decided it was a device of the devil!
I tried to suggest Discord for this type of stuff. One Discord server can have multiple rooms, chats, voice, etc but was frowned upon when I suggested an 'official' link.
I also had a HTC 'official' idea but with all the negativity around here atm, decided to do it ourselves.

Looks like you can get Discord on your smart phone. That'd mean no need for private phone numbers or WhatsApp, you could just monitor the relevant channel.

If the CIA want to read my parental, organisational conversations with Mrs. Shida and see who I'm duelling with in the MPA they can knock themselves out with that :rofl
Hell, if they're watching this now: 'The First Lady wears army boots, Micky Mouse is Kaputt' and if you don't like it get in the MPA and teach me a lesson!
But in all seriousness it looks like Discord is the better option, you can download it on your phone as well as your PC, and if you have some time to fly can just log in to the channel and see if anyone is there before you even turn your OC on.

Definately one of the most fun Saturday afternoons I've had playing AH for a long time. Fun at Ta57x's furball lake (while he was asleep) and then all in Matchplay. Everyone really friendly and got to meet some new AH players.
Only that Duchey fella flew a 110 at me on the deck and said smile and don't blink at the flash.

Was a really fun afternoon. Best of all to talk to people you've seen around but never met. Had to explain my accent in advance :banana:

This type of thing would benefit me as I'm not subbed anymore, match play is one of the few arena's I can join.

In the bottom left, click the gear icon, then it will take to your account. Click "edit" on the top right. Then you should be able to change your username, email, password, and avatar.
