Just finished binging the last 6 or so episodes of Breaking Bad. Jeeze what an effing tragedy, I mean Hank getting capped and then Brock's mother????
I guess I am years behind the times but it was all fresh for me.

Thanks I am only on the second season.

That was rude not putting a spoiler alert warning.

Thankfully I’ve already seen the series twice. Now hooked on “Better Call Saul” which I also love.
Spoilers....ugh. :bhead
-
After the 1st episode... I quit watching :aok
-
Just for spoiling that for me. Bruce Willis was dead the whole movie.
-
Funny thing but I never had any interest in that show.
-
Sorry about the lack of spoiler alert, the show ended 5 years ago and I was under the impression I was the only person who never watched it.
-
:rofl

Wait..wasnt he alive..until he died :uhoh DAMN...Im gonna have to watch it again :neener:

We gave it another two episodes before we gave up on it. I still do not get why it was so popular.

Well you'll never know why now.
It's actually a brilliant show and it gets better as it goes along.

+1 - it's as if... "well this couldn't get any worse..." and then Walter goes "Hold my beer..."
It spirals down faster and harder than anyone could imagine. I also loved the first few seconds of every episode that hints at the season ending...

Yep. The Walt-to-Heisenberg spiral is incredibly well done. Subtle. I was like, “Am I supposed to be cheering this guy?”
Lol
“Better Call Saul” is entering that spiral now, too. “Slippin’ Jimmy” is morphing into Saul Goodman....... :x

That’s pretty much it.

So, how many episodes do you have to watch before it starts getting better? It was difficult getting through the first 3.
-
Starting at episode 6, it went from 25mph to 100. Season 2 was like 200 mph. Season 3 was 500 mph. Then it went sonic boom at Season 4. And Season 5 was full bore Mach 2.
And for those of you who loved Breaking Bad, Ozark on Netflix is very similar but different enough to hold it's own and entertain.

Not sure Skuzzy, maybe you should just watch the season 1 recap and skip to season 2. I found myself caring less and less about what would happen to Walter as he became Eisenstein although I did become more and more curious about what would happen to Walter as he dug himself deeper and deeper into the dark side.
Regardless of whether or not you decide to watch it all the way through, I would definitely watch the final arc of the story as it was some of the best television dramatic theater-ifficness I've ever seen. And when it's all said and done, it's a great depiction of what inevitably happens to people who get involved and stay immersed in that horrible counter-culture.
I really enjoy watching Mike's back story unfold on the spin-off series 'Better Call Saul'

I wish I knew what to tell you on that. The first one piqued my curiousity right off the bat. But I got drawn into it to the point of binge watching pretty quickly.
Think of it as a character study. Walt is the ‘taganist (I can’t say pro- or an-) almost an anti-hero. Then other characters come in who are compelling as well. By the time Mike and Saul arrive you’re hooked because they’re such great characters.
It’s well written. One step forward two steps back and then........things change....

...would you say the 'bathtub' incident, or when he visits the local drug dealer and throws some... happy candy at him that started the true movement of the series?

So many moments.
The plate. I think it was the plate! :old:

My favorite scene of the series was the Pizza scene.

Yes! Epic!
I wanted to slap Skyler all the time. She wore me out.
I love the Mike character. He’s big in “Better Call Saul” now.

Everytime Hank's wife opened her mouth I wished an airplane would crash land on her. I was pleasantly surprised to see Q made an appearance, although his story arc was probably also the most depressing.

Yeah, he's a great actor. Loved him in Star Trek.

If it was difficult getting through the first 3 episodes than don't bother. Life is too short to waste on TV. One persons delicacy is another's plate of fermented offal.
I do think the show gets better as it goes along but I am not sure whether or not it would for anyone who really found it dull in the first season.
I know when it came out I probably wouldn't have watched on principal because of all the hype. Sometimes it seems like I can't stand a movie/show because it is so popular. I don't really watch Tarantino movies because for some reason I took up an irrational dislike of him and it colors the experience of watching any of his movies.
Better Call Saul is pretty entertaining right out of the box.

good description of the series there.

That's how I look at a lot of shows too. There are many things that are hugely popular that just didn't grab me. If it's not your cup of tea, it's not your cup of tea. With that said, BB is probably my favorite show of all time, running neck and neck with The Shield for #1 spot.

I've got problems with a few people like that as well. Julia Roberts is mine for reasons I can't explain.
Better Call Saul is pretty entertaining right out of the box.
This for sure, although I wonder what it would be like to watch it not having watched BB first and really liking Mike and Saul.
Wiley.

+1 on THE SHIELD.
-
I started watching better call saul first then went back and watched breaking bad. Both top shows but I think I prefer better call saul.
Even the latest episodes now are still linking back to the BB storyline (how they made the underground meth lab) and Mike is great for an old guy.

Skuzzy, the show was very good. It was nice to see a story set in the American Southwest on location I believe. Hollywood writing that did have some typecasting in regards to criminal lifestyle but entertaining. Good humor and surprise cameos.

I do not know what is suppose to be good about it, and maybe that is the problem. Someone said it was 6 episodes in when thing changed. Maybe I need to skip to those episodes and try it.
All I know is the first 3 were not anything I cared for. I just could not figure out what there was to like about those episodes. Maybe my expectations were too high, with all the hype surrounding it.
It is hard for me to waste time on television I do not find entertaining.

It’s a character study. They’re setting everything up for what comes later. It’s part of the ride.
The compelling nature of it is a regular guy trying to do something desperate for the sake of his family. It is quite literally one step forward five steps back—until it isn’t. And then things take a turn. And another. And another. And you’re shaking your head wondering how you got there.

Well the creation of that god awful cringe inducing mustache deserves some kind of award.

The show was horribly rated in the beginning of its airing. Its about half way through the series it began to really pick up the hype it ended with.

Skuzzy.
Watch the Season 1 recap and skip to season 2.
If you do not like season 2, skip to the recap and try season 3 etc...
If you are not interested by the time the final season starts just stick it out and it will be worthwhile.
If you were not interested in the story by the end of the series you should contact Alex Jones immediately and inform him that you are a victim of government brain voodoo and offer to loan him your social media accounts in exchange for effective treatment of your disorder.
This message may or may not self destruct in 5 minutes. <S>

Hehe.
Yeah, I don't have any social media accounts, but I might take your advice on skipping a bunch of the early episodes.
