Hiya Skuzzy... I have been experiencing intermittent lock ups
The task manager doesn't indicate any problems (no response etc.) but it
will allow me to close AH III
Voice still seems OK
Attached is the dump file and Dxdiag log
Thnx

You have 3 sound devices active in your computer.
The USB audio, the RealTek audio, and the NVidia HDMI pass-through driver. Are you using all of them?
The NVidia driver is only needed if you expect sound to come over the HDMI cable connected to a monitor with speakers. If this is not being used, then disable the driver or it will cause problems.
-
That HDMI audio seems to cause a lot of problems doesn't it?
-
It is just not written well to share with other drivers. There are several audio drivers like that.
It is a tricky driver as it has to be ready to deal with audio data at any point in time. It cannot ever assume a structured flow of input/output. It's the kind of thing that keeps programmers up late at night.
-
Yes, seems too be. Since I got THIS FIX/ADVICE not one issue with burps and hiccups :x

If your having network issues, then they can appear to be lockups as Windows will not resume running the application if interrupts are not answered in a timely manner. In the case of network problems, the application started a network transaction and Windows is holding up the application waiting for the transaction to complete.
All bets are off if any piece of hardware is not acting in its intended manner.
-
If you've suffered from a bad internet connection, resetting your networking devices might be a good idea.
Open the command prompt with administrative privileges (howto (https://www.howtogeek.com/235101/10-ways-to-open-the-command-prompt-in-windows-10/)) and type the following lines followed with Enter after each line. Reboot after having finished all of them.
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset catalog
I'm not saying this would end your lockups but there's no harm done.

check to see if anything is utilizing massive amounts of resources in your task manager when it hangs.

Happened again yesterday... will a .zip of a .dmp help?
-
Post that DMP in the Bug report forum along with a description of what you are were doing. Also what version of the game (DX11 or DX9).

Hiya Skuzzy... just wanted to let u know the freeze/lockups have not happened since I
replaced my video card but the stutters are still occurring
:salute

After 2 yrs being away from this game I decided to sign up again. However Ive been getting lockups , freezes and poor connections that bring up the firewall alarm. I was connected long enough to lift off anf fly 10 min. Now nothing. My browser works Win7 w 8Gram. see attach dxdiag

The biggest issue with your system is that you're using the 32 bit version of Windows 7. So although you have 8 GB of RAM and 1 GB of video RAM, the 32 bit operating system only can use 4 GB of it. And 4 GB including your video memory is much too little for any bigger tasks these days.
The video card is also on the weak side, meaning you should minimize all eye candy for a smooth (-ish) gameplay.
So to unleash the full power of your system you'd have to reinstall Windows as a 64 bit version to start with. A better video card would also help, but only after the reinstalling.

Bizman nailed it.
Taking it one step further. Due to other memory overlays (BIOS, other device memory needs...) the OS will only be able to use about 3GB of that 4GB of RAM.
