Title: Looking for reliable CM's
Post by: Wanker on September 21, 2001, 11:47:00 AM
Hey everyone,

What can I say? We currently have over 20 CM's total, and nobody would/could step up and handle the setup CM position for tonight's TOD. So Daddog has canceled the TOD for tonight.

I am embarrassed and disappointed that we have let the player community down. I am very, very sorry that the CM team as it stands right now is not as reliable as we want it to be. I think the TOD series that Daddog has created is going to be hugely successful, but only if we can get enough reliable people from the community that will accept the role as CM to help run these events.

In an effort to try to rectify this situation, I have sent out private invitations to people whom Daddog and I think would make fair, reliable CM's. Please check your private messages now, and if you have received one from me, please respond ASAP.

If you didn't get one from me, and you can commit to being available on Friday nights 99% of the time, and you believe you'd make a good CM, please send me a private message. What makes a good CM? In my opinion, a good CM is someone who can remain impartial when running events, and someone who is a good communicator, and a team player. Lastly, a good CM is in it for the good of the community, because they want provide top-notch, historial events for the AH player community.

Being a CM is pretty much a thankless job, but you will get some small compensation in knowing that you helped keep the spirit of this community alive and healthy.

Once again, my profuse appologies to everyone for our failure today.  :(

After hearing ozark, ghosth, daddog and yourself on RW during these things, there's NO WAY I'd wanna be a CM!!!!  ICK!!!

With that said, if you guys don't get any good people on board, let me know.  I'll help out if no one else will.

Thanks guys. If we can't get enough people with the guys I'm already corresponding with, I'll send you a private message soon. I already have a couple people who have made the commitment to me, so hopefully things are looking up.

I have very good news to report, but I want to wait until I have the list of new CM's finalized. I should have an announcement to give by Monday.

Vulcan, Wotan, actually learning HOW to do things is the easy part.  :)

True you'll have to learn a few things, and attention to detail can be important. But it's really not that hard.

"That's odd, I haven't gotten my email yet", he mutters to himself tapping the screen to dislodge any stuck bits of email.

"Hmph, must be the virus."  :(
