....why do some people have forum names different from their in game names? :headscratch:
-
Mine name was tied up when I came back to the game, or so it shows it is. I might ask the crew if they will unlock line so I can go back to Ciaphas instead of Stomplab.

In game names are limited to 8 characters is another reason.

Well, that’s understandable. :rofl

People change their game IDs from time to time. Mine matched ten years ago.
-
I was bored by all the "What does it mean? And how the hell do you pronounce it?" questions, so I changed my ingame name after 30 tours.

The server for Aces High (where AH handles are managed) is separate from and unconnected to this message board.
For someone to have the same handle here as in the game, they would need to pick the same handle here as in the game, and if they ever change one, need to go in an change it in the other place.

when i first joined I was known as guncrsh. my id in aw was semp but it was taken in ah. later i changed my id to sempac as semper was also taken. took me four years of monthly check until semp id became available. been known as semp since then.

Also, a lot of people on the message boards dont have a game ID. Either they dont play any more, or are noobs checking out the game info, or WWII buffs joining the conversations.
I wish it was tied to the game data and that those of us who ARE in the game it would match a game name with the message board ID and post it in the ID info in the left column here.

"underwear" [noun]: The damage caused to one's rectum because of excessive usage. See "piles".

Occasionally there is a dispute over who "owns" a callsign, and one of the parties involved refuses to accept a duel to settle the matter. I was "eagl" since early WB ("suck" before that in CK) and some guy came on with eag1 (eag'one'). Of course I had to duel him for the ident, fortunately he was a good sport about it, and fortunately I won the right to keep the callsign.
The point being that if someone takes your callsign in the arena or forums and isn't big enough to duel for it, then you might get stuck.
