So a window pops up during the patch a couple days ago.
It says if I click proceed, :furious you will update a missing DLL file. Well, it failed.
No remedy given. Now I cannot even play the game off line. A window pops up when I initiate game that says:
"......aceshigh9.exe is not a valid Win32 application"
I have no idea what that means.

I have XP Pro.

HTC dropped XP in patch 1, this is patch 2 so it's not in the current notes. You need a new OS.
-
Windows XP is no longer supported.
-
My computer is so old it cannot take a new OS. How can undo the patch so I can at lest play offline until I get a new system?

Suppose I missed a warning about this impending fatal paralysis?

Are you sure about that?
Fresh boot up your PC, then run a DXDIAG report, save it as a text file to your desktop ( or a temp folder ), zip it and attach it to a post in this forum or copy the top 1/3rd of it and paste it here in a reply
Hope this helps

I'll give that a try but what about what Skuzzy said above, no support for XP?
-
I think he is referring to the statement you made about the computer being too old to update.
Typically, if Windows XP runs on the hardware, then Windows 7 will too.

Yes Sir, that's what I was referring to

It was not up to HTC!
HTC carried on supporting WindowsXP way longer than any online gaming company that I know of, which speaks highly of them and how far they went by supporting an extremely long outdated OS
Losing the ability to use html4 and WindowsXP being dropped by Microsoft years ago forced HTC to have to stop supporting WindowsXP, since their are certain DLL files the game requires but are not available for XP
Hope this helps explain it some what....

TC pretty much nailed it.
We put a lot of effort into supporting Windows XP as long as we did. We finally lost the battle to keep it supported.
