I think it has been ask for a while back. The tank is the Pershing. It was used from Jan. '45 till end of the war. The F4U-4 was used only a few months and we have it. I usually ask for the Fiat G55 ( which I still do), but I wish for the Pershing.

M36 90mm GMC might be a better choice. Just throwing that out there.

New tanks seem like a waist to me because there is not enough differentiation to make them any different from any of the ones we have. And thos aren't different enough from each other to even merit a reason to drive one over the other.
Every tank type has a model with a gun that kill every other tank with one shot.
They all have speeds between 22-34 mph
They can all be killed with one shot.
The only differentiation of note is...
M18 has a substantial speed deference but it can be knocked out by machine guns.
Tiger II can take multiple hits
Hetzer can take multiple hits
In game how would a Pershing play any different than a T-34/85?
-
The Pershing has a more powerful main gun than the M4 Sherman. It would give the U.S. an upgrade which it needs.

A Sherman Firefly can shoot through anything. What would the gun in the Pershing be able to do that a Firefly can't?

There is a fine line between having in place all the rides that cover the "general spectrum" of power and performance for WW2 day1 to the last day of the war. And providing a solace to the boredom of familiarity. War Thunder pretty much introduced everything that flew with a gun or toted bombs. The console warriors ate that up but, WT saturated the field in a few years. Aces High has purpose rides that represent icons of performance from stages of the war, quality versus numbers for combat in a game that uses WW2 rides but, is not a WW2 game.
Time marches on and we are not 400 a night enamored of hundreds of players in the same fight all night long. More rides is not a bad thing when you have less than 200 a night, and little things matter because your customers are not sensory over whelmed and engrossed in the magic of a furball with 30-50 players on each side for hours. At this point the quality and numbers of the stage props may even attract the curious since people will pass that kind info on to friends after they took a tour through the hanger.

I'd say the Comet. The UK could use an actual tank of their own design. :)

Planes have many features that contribute to their performance. And that variation in performance creates a vast array of opportunities to change the outcome of an engagement. So if a new plane like the P-63 is added it's combination of speed, acceleration, roll rate, turn rates, climb, gun package, visibility, dive, ordinance packages, range, toughness, stall characteristics, all which vary with altitude create a whole new and unique dimension to game play as people learn to fly it and fly against it. This uniqueness increases exponentially when multiple planes of various types all engage each other.
While tanks have multiple attributes that affect performance, they are much fewer. Muzzle velocity, AP capability, Optics of the sight, armor protection, Turret speed, and tank speed. But most AH tank engagements are less than 2000 yrds in wooded, hilly areas. In this peek-a-boo environment the muzzle velocities of most tanks is sufficient for one shot kills. The variations in speed, armor, range, AP, optics are all neutralized. The battle comes down to who lands the first shot, where it's much more about the strategy and skill of the driver with respect to being sneaky. What percent of tank deaths are by a tank they didn't see, or saw too late? 75%? It's a very rare engagement in AH where tanks are exploiting advantages in speed, turret mobility, firepower and toughness out in the open range, over long distances to maneuver around each other slugging it out to determine the winner.
So unfortunately a new tank with slight variation on those attributes doesn't effect game play very much. :salute

-1 for both the Pershing and Comet. These are both super late war tanks, that bring little to the table in terms of MA gameplay, and bring zero to events.
It would be better if new planes/vehicles are those which had some meaningful usage in the war.

If it keeps the paying customer happy, why deny it to them? Trying to control outcomes by dictating what "should" be introduced before you will grant your approval is kind of childish. Everyone's $14.95 keeps Hitech's doors open equally and Waffle works for Hitech. Hitech chose not to have Waffle do tank interiors anymore to speed up the process time for new tanks. And there has already been a wish to perk the T34\85 since that's used more than any other tank. We really never know how a ride will actually fair in the MA until it's given to the players. Scenario's don't run 24\7 365 like the MA does and shilo dosen't do scenario's from what I can tell.

Bustr, as you know HTC is a small company. Because they simply can't/won't hire more development staff, development time is a zero sum game. Time spent on one project is time not spent on another. Why waste development time on a tank which will have a very high perk price and see little action in the MA because of it when there are plenty of planes and vehicles which will be used more in the MA and have actual usage in events.

You are still arguing that your $14.95 is better than shilo's becasue some how you are superior to him as an authority of what is truth and righteous with AH. Neither of us know what's in Waffle's can at this moment. And we both know Hitech has fancies that never cease to horribly amaze those who want AH turned into a wall to wall WW2 historic fantasy. shilo just wants something different and competitive in the MA ground combat game where most of the customer base spends most of the time for their $14.95 like he does.
-
You really like jumping to conclusions.
My argument is not one of my $15 being worth more than Shilo's, or that my opinions are somehow worth more. I simply addressed his idea and gave my reasoning of why it is a bad one.

My point is not to tell HTC what to develop. It’s to get Shilo to think about whether his request will make him happy. Imagine if Shilo could get one wish granted. Is the Pershing a good one? Instead he might ask for you to make terrains that create vast open plains where tank battles would better utilize the differences between the current crop of tanks so tank battles would be more fun.
I don’t think I ever said no. :salute

So far, none of my wish's have been granted. I have been pushing for the Fiat G55 for no less than two years. The Pershing would make me happy as well as a number of wishes made by other people. I was thinking of something new and I stand by it.

I could understand kicking shilo into the corner business as usual if he pulled a nuget whopper about radically changing the whole game without some forethought ala Devil-n-Vinkman admonishment. Even Hitech told nuget to knock it off. The only purely selfish wish that helps everyone besides the poster is for rides. And it has always been one of the thank you's for "being my customer" best received by the broadest cross section of customers Hitech has. Since only he knows whats cookin in Waffle's kitchen.
Me think's a flu virus called El Grincho is back in da house in time for Christmas. Man shilo we surely have dumped a lot of that your way since AH3 went live. :salute

What can I say bustr, only I'll keep trying. :salute

This.
I mentioned the M36 because it has the same gun, performed well in WWII, and can fire HE up to 20k! (they both can). It will not have a high perk price, because it can be killed relatively easily, despite being able to kill anything it faces. Then there's the .30 cal vs .50 cal problem.

This sentence is tough to understand. Are you saying I admonished Shilo? I did no such thing. I admonished Tank battles. :salute

Shilo was being used as a soapbox or a whipping post, or both depending on the responses. Wishing for rides brings out the pure unadulterated self service in the forum community. Shilo got trampled in the rush to slap the Bruce with ancient parchment claims of authority to personal posterity. Then like usual, Hitech ignores them and the poster has boot marks on his head, whip marks on his back, or both. And no body has a clue what's in Waffle's can.

I asked for this M36 along time ago
