Title: Oiled Jug
Post by: Puma44 on November 28, 2018, 10:04:12 AM: Several years ago, this pilot, a volunteer at the Pima Air Museum, was standing in one of the display buildings holding this same picture. It was interesting to hear his story about the incident.

I don’t recall the circumstance of how it got oiled (slept too many times since then). He did say there was absolutely no forward vis, oil all over him when he rolled the canopy back, and a challenge landing with the constant oil splattering in his face.

He is from the 347th FS, 350th FG, 12th AF."
