Does anyone know a company which sells left handed joysticks where the hand rest sets on the left? It is very difficult to find one and I was wondering if one of you experts can point me in the right direction!
-
The handrest of the T16000M can be switched to the other side.

And it is a very good stick.

There used to be a guy in AH that converted CH sticks to lefty,IIRC his name was homeboy. Maybe a search on the forum will give you a link or some imfo.
I recall he had pix and directions posted,it would have been around 2006 or so.
hope that helps.

The HomeBoy lefties were presented on CH forums which have now closed. Another forum had a direct link to something that may have been his site, now out of business: http://snomhf.exofire.net/leftyHOTAS.html (http://snomhf.exofire.net/leftyHOTAS.html). Thanks to Internet Archive's Wayback Machine this could be found for those who'd like to test their handicraft abilities: https://web.archive.org/web/20131022235441/http://snomhf.exofire.net:80/leftyHOTASdevelopment.html (https://web.archive.org/web/20131022235441/http://snomhf.exofire.net:80/leftyHOTASdevelopment.html).
The aforementioned T16000M is ambidextrous, but if you want to have a throttle for right hand for a HOTAS that is challenging to say the very least.

The T160000 is the only one I Know of decently priced from Amazon

I can say that EVENTUALLY (caps for good reason) VKB is coming out with a grip for space sims that will come in both left and right handed models and a twisty adapter.
That's the plan so they say.
Eventually because like everything else in the niche market stick world production and availability is painfully slow. Heck it took a year to get my base and grip to complete a stick! I've been waiting ever since then for a throttle that's also under development but have only seen teaser pics of various renditions or rough parts. Slower than slow.
Oh and definitely not a budget stick. But it'll be a good one if it ever makes it to market! But if it does and you want to buy it - - don't wait! Buy it! It'll be out of stock literally in hours and after that for months on end!

I saw this on some Star Citizen forums: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3161
I'm pretty much waiting for that. In patch 3.5 (middle 2019) CIG is supposed to revamp the Star Citizen flight model, until then I can wait.
Asked around about the Lefty CH stick but, as was said, they're aren't being made anymore. And no one is selling them if they have one, that I've seen.
Edit: better link
-
Most of us lefties are ambidextrous.
-
To clarify, it was just one individual who modified the lefty CH sticks for sale and also shared his know-how to those willing to grab a saw and and a tube of epoxy. No official CH lefty sticks have been manufactured, ever.

I have one of Homeboy's CH fighter stick and Pro Throttle left hand conversions and they are sweet. As already mentioned, that unit is no longer available. Before buying Homeboy's HOTAS, I converted an old Thrustmaster by drilling new holes on the right hand end of the throttle handle and installing my own switches. It wasn't nearly as sophisticated as Homeboy's, but it worked pretty well. Contact the folks at Virpil and let them know you're interested in a left handed (right handed actually for the throttle) Mongoose T-50. The more inquiries they get, the more likely they are to make one someday. In the meantime the T16000M is your best bet. Also, try converting one on your own. Find a used, inexpensive throttle and have at it. You might be surprised what can be done on your own.

if you go with VKB you may see jesus before you get the thing, and there customer service has really gone down hill.

The waiting part is for sure! No denying that. I've never had a problem with the North America rep. That guy has always been quick with an email response. It seems the guy for the EU tends to go dark for crazy ridiculously long periods of time.
