Ill be watching Monday, my theater says its in 3D.

Just saw it here in North Carolina (matinee).
From what I've read, it's only available in 3d in theaters today, and one day next week.
Almost no battle action had ever been shot in WW1; this is more about seeing the soldiers in something far better than what we know as 'colorization'... mostly daily life sort of stuff, but a real strong aesthetic experience.

I was surprised how little of the material gathered from The Imperial War Museum he used, even though he explained why after the movie. All in all, a worthwhile experience, I thought (even though Kelly kept her eyes shut through most of it).

I was starting to get agitated a little when they used black and white so far into the movie, however once they made the switch to the remastered color it was well worth it.
A great documentary, glad I saw it in the theater as I doubt I would buy it on DVD.

Wonderful film. I was very impressed by the amount of work and dedication put into this project, but would expect nothing less from Peter Jackson. Got me in the mood for some WWI. :airplane:

whilst a bit depressing and eerie in those days it must have been really rare to see someone recording / taking photos and they almost all look straight down the lens making it very personal with the eye contact.
having been to all those WW1 battlefields and cemeteries brought those memories back. :(
Yet we still embroil ourselves into all manner of wars. :bhead

Yeah, you would think we would learn. Nope. Just got better at doing it :uhoh
