Preconditions:
- own engine sound reduced to something low'ish (not sure if really required)
- F5 "fixed view" zoomed out to max range
Then:
- Flying a bomber, engines running, audio is running engines (obviously)
- F5 "fixed view", at max range, no engine sound
- F1 back to cockpit
Expected: Engines sound like they are running.
What I hear: Engines sound like they are starting up, then running.
I think it's been that way at least since ever in AH3 (don't think this was the case in AH/AH2).
edit: "external" replaced with "fixed"
-
F5 is a completely different external view mode than F3 external view mode
Did you mean to use "F5" (CM EYE MODE) or was that a typo error]?
Hope this helps

Oops, not external, but "fixed". My F5 is "fixed", I don't think I've ever changed the mapping of that one. It's not the default?
-
F5 only has a limited use for players in the Melee Arena and can only be used while you are in the tower/hangar/o'club
I'm not aware of it being available after launch of any aircraft/vehicle/pt boat.....
If you find that the view is not showing its normal default setting, then you should be able to reset it to default by after in "F5" view (CM eye mode/God's eye mode) hit the Home key then hit the F10 key
Hope this helps

F5 default is 'view mode fixed', which is how it is mapped for me. The CM eye view and move buttons are not included in the default mapping at all.
F5 (view mode fixed) works for bombers +/- the same as F3 (external), except that zoom (default brackets [], analog zoom works in neither external nor fixed) changes the distance instead of the field of view like in F3.
That's all not the issue here, the views are fine. The issue is the sound of the engine when switching from fixed view (F5) at maximum distance back to default (F1). It sounds as if engines are being restarted.

My apologies, ccvi, I completely missed or mis-red
Then:
- Flying a bomber,
which had me thinking of other topics
Sorry for the confusion on my part....

Don't worry, I'm used to being misunderstood. It might be me.
Can you reproduce it? Or am I the only one hearing it?

:aok I get engine start sounds whenever "view Mode" is switched, even in FILM VIEWER :headscratch:
