Howdy Y'all,
New weird thing with my X-45.
It works great in every other simulator I have. Aces High III is the only one it does this for.
AH received max input value on all axis, until I get the controls moved all the way to their limits or reach. Far top left then has a very tight analog response where the flight control surfaces actually move.
Also affects my Saitek rudder pedals. Swinging left to right without input.
I have :
1. Calibrated in game
2. Calibrated in Windows
3. Calibrated in Windows, then in game.
4. Re-installed Drivers for Saitek.
5. Repeat Steps 1 through 3.
I am about to reinstall AH, but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas here first.

I know you said you calibrated in game but now go to each adjustment. Open the setting in Ah to map controller. Pick the one for elevator and calibrate just that. Then continue on and do every other setting... ailerons, rudder, and brakes. See if that works.
I had to do this quite some time ago and never again since.
Good luck!

Just tried it. No joy, thanks for the suggestion. Have any more?

When you are setting one of those and expand it out to the side (tick ADVANCED box, you can see what feedback you are getting in the game under RAW and SCALED.
Do those show full movement?

They show movement for a quarter inch of movement at the far left of my joystick. Anything past that 1/4 inch and it's up to 65535. :(

Don't reinstall AH, just rename the settings folder.

Renamed Settings Folder.
Still no joy.

Set deadband all the way to the bottom and retry it.

The Saitek Drivers caused problems for me. I just run the windows default now, no issues :uhoh

Before trying anything else, supposing you use Windows 10 (applies to 8/8.1 too), press Shift while clicking Shutdown your computer. Start as normally and check if the issue has gone.
Since it's affecting AH only, logically it should be a Settings issue.
To me it sounds like the stick is acting more like a button instead of a potentiometre. It reminds me of the issue I used to have with the view button: Just a tiny nudge instead of the usual movement. The culprit was that I had mapped an unorthodox mixture of buttons and pots or something like that. It might have been the rocker pot on the throttle being used for looking down left-right or something similar. Although renaming the Settings folder should take care of that, double check the mappings both for the stick and other controllers.
There's also a Stickdef folder within AH3, containing similar .jsm files as the Settings folder. Try renaming that too.
If none of the above helps, reinstall AH over the existing game.

every mode has to be set when you are in them-fighter-throttle, aileron, elevators, rudder, etc. gv-bomber-ship gunner

I know you said that the controller works in other flight sysms, that said, have you used the calibration program supplied with the controller outside of AH? Same for peddles. How this helps.
