I would be very happy to have you fly with us in the event if you'd like. I am in Ki-45/Bf110C's for the event, doing attack and antishipping.
However, if you'd be happier in a fighter role or a level-bomber role, there are those available, too, on both the US side and the Japanese side. (US has P-47, P-38, F6F, B-25H, and B-24 to choose from. Japan has Ki-84, N1K2, Ki-61, Ki-45/Bf110C, Ki-67 to choose from.)
Make sure to post here if you have any problems, and I'll get you through them and all set up.

Flying a attack aircraft in one of these scenario's is the most fun thing i ever did! Every single attack plane can make or brake the scenario for your side! From sneaking to your target to slaughtering bombers and fighters! Its simply the most diverse roll in all of the scenario. I would highly recommend flying one, if your not already.

At the beginning of the video I saw what looked like some 110s comitting sewercide. Maybe I've spent to much time in FSO and don't understand the environment here. It seems to me that it have made more sense to try to turn away from the enema and try to buy some time to maybe get some help instead of a high g e bleeding turn into that swarm. Guess I don't understand the scoring here or something.

I flew on the opposing side, but I think the guys piloting the 110 did know their location on the map, the location of the nearest friendlies etc. Even if the event is balanced in numbers etc there can be some local unbalance and someone has to enter a desperate fight against an overwhelming enemy force.

I signed up and selected one of the planes in the clay pigeon, er, I mean 8th Hakkou-tai flight.

That makes sense. I've been in those situations where there weren't a lot of options left.
I know when I used to fly FSO I was always trying to keep track of where I was where the enemy was, where the nearest friendly base was, what direction I needed to go if things got bad.
Once I started doing that I started having a much higher chance of survival and I think the 1 life thing makes you more mindful of your SA.

Basically it's as asterix says. We where behind enemy lines and we where spotted and being chased by what looked to be at least 2 full sqaudrons that had alt and e on us. We already made our pass I believe at the target Field and where trying to sneak to safety. Meanwhile our team was getting ready to setup the next major attack.
Actually dying there was in our favour (and taking some of the 2 life fighters down(we had 3)) since we had to make 3 passes on the enemies fields. As stated by the rules. Whatever happens next was up to my own discretion. We where allowed to hunt bombers, kill fighters or make more runs if we felt like it. We did a mix it. We scorred most kills, targets destroyed and had the most fun during the event. :D

38th BG B-25 in action:
You can see the 405th Bomb Squadron "Green Dragons" nose art at around 0:45. How cool is that :x.
Still spots available for the fire spitting dragon of a B-25H. No parafrags or skip bombing, but we got the 75mm nose cannon and general purpose bombs.

Awesome find! Your Bomb Squadron, hitting targets like the ones you'll be hitting in the event! Very cool! :aok

Folks, the B-25H will be a monster in this event -- highly capable of demolishing its land targets and enemy ships.
Swareiam flew them in the Rabaul scenario and said the B-25H pilots had a marvelous time.
Also, you'll get to fly with Asterix, who is an awesome guy to fly with in events.

Thanks for the king words Brooke, I will do my best. B-25H spots for the Rabaul filled up in like two days so I was late then, that was one reason I was so quick to register now.
Another clip featuring 405th BS:
Port Moresby, New Guinea is southeast of Philippines and Leyte. The video before was near Sedate airstrip on the island of Celebes that is south of Philippines. So the ring around Leyte is closing in.
