Title: My fjord Fury scenario films
Post by: asterix on January 01, 2019, 10:55:39 AM
Wanted to increase HDD space for the next event and save some memories. Here is the first one- a low dogfight in a Ta 152 H:

Low budget PC, low graphics settings and a good game is how I roll in the world of flight simulators. Never been about good graphics= good game hype train. This is one fight from the Fjord Fury Scenario held in June 2018. As often in a dogfight situation I made some bad decisions, sometimes could not make a decision etc. A lot of graphics related data got lost during recording, converting, processing etc.

Footage was captured via EZCAP 283S. For some reason I could only get 30 fps 1080p recording. Recorder was connected with HDMI cables, but I could not get sound through so connected a Y-harness into PC headphone output and connected an audio wire to EZCAP gamer commentary microphone input. This means my voice communication can`t be heard (not necessarily a bad thing). Also my gaming system is old so could not find/ get proper drivers working etc.

I also want to make few videos about MA flying, but there is some very lame complaining on ch200 going on that I want to filter out. So this was kind of a test to see how effective a text filter is. Censoring out few MA text lines is more time consuming than trying to censor the whole textbox. I would want to show player`s vox chatter, text messages and the fun bragging that is going on, but I would also like to respect people`s privacy and avoid some lame loudmouth complainers. In the event everything is very civilized, so only privacy would be applicable here. I don`t know what would be better and what is the usual and accepted practice in online gameplay footage.

I have a similar dilemma about the whole idea of making my videos as well. On one side I want to save memories and show the gameplay action, at the same time I don`t want possible newcomers put off by the graphics I am using.
