Speaking of football, Portsmouth to the Championship? Top of the table after the festive period.

Since 2010 the USA has won 3 championships and will probably win this year.

Oops, sorry. We did. One of the main news on the radio this morning.

Yes one heck of a game. Congrats Suomi, you played your hearts out.
The Russia- Swiss game was also quite good, tho the score doesn't reflect that.

don't want to de-rail this thread about ice hockey but in answer to perdue's post.
They are most definitely a championship club, we were always surviving relegation dogfights when I was a young lad watching them. This season they have surprised me, have expected the wheels to fall off at any moment but they have done us all proud with the best league away form in all of Europe! Hopefully they can maintain it for these last few months and get an automatic promotion spot. Knocked Championship 2nd place team Norwich out of the FA cup at the weekend and got drawn QPR at home so maybe a repeat of 2008 could be on the cards! :x
With American Eisner ownership a solid financial backing should see us back up and who knows maybe a return to the premiership one day.

Our boys didn't have a very good showing. Tough to be Canadian team that finally doesn't win a medal. The poor captain received some not-so-nice correspondence about his performance. We put a lot of pressure on our young hockey players.
The level of skill this year was impressive to say the least.
Congratz to the young americans. :salute
