So I am searching up for a vacation rental on AirBnB in the Grapevine area. I understand that care needs to be taken in relation to traffic where you choose.
I need to be as close as possible to the Cowboys Golf Club (1600 Fairway Drive). Will have a car. That is located right at the bottom of the Lake near DFW airport.
Should I rent a place north east south or west of that course given the concerns about traffic? There are lots of great AirBnB houses in the area!
Any help greatly appreciated!
Coming over Feb 7-11th.

Traffic is bad everywhere except from about 10am to 3pm.
Pick a place that has stuff nearby you want to get to (restaurants, etc.) and don’t sweat the drive. I don’t think it will be too bad since you’re not going far.

Take a look at this hotel https://www.acc-thryvhotelandconferencecenter.com/
Pretty cool place. Staff is really nice. Started off as a hotel/training/simulator for Boeing pilots.
If you don't feel like driving, they have a shuttle that will take you places with 5 or 10 miles (I forget).
AMF puts their pilots up there for training, so you'll probably run into some of them.

That area is going to be traffic heavy in every direction like Vraciu said. But if you aren't planning on going into Dallas or Fort Worth during rush hour it shouldn't be a big problem. Any Air BnB close would be good. Another place to consider is the Gaylord Texan resort. It's right next to Cowboys Golf Club.

Thanks for responses. I am now just staying at one of the Marriotts next to the course. The guys I am going with had a really bad AirBnB experience in Orlando a couple of years ago and won’t do that again so the hotels were the only option. The event is paying for their room and I am just tagging along, so I am fine with it.
I actually now think I am leaving my clubs at home and will just go watch the crazy people play in the cold weather that is hitting the area the day I arrive. Lol. Just my luck. Last time I was there was the convention in like 2003. It was 105 degrees outside one day! This is going to be the opposite.
I just don’t have the right gear to keep warm and play golf. If I try and layer up with what I have I won’t be able to make a swing! Lol. I admit to being a fair weather golfer at the best of times. I don’t mind heat, I don’t mind rain and I honesty don’t mind wind. But adding cold to that and I am out.
Hopefully I will get to see Toad again, he PM’d me...and I have responded back. Hope he sees it!
In any case I will get to eat some BBQ and meet a bunch of cool people, not a big deal going one weekend without playing! 😁👍

I remember that day very well Rip. Good times.
Man, they grow up so very fast. Congrats to him on the new job.
Congrats to you on retiring and building the rancho deluxe.
If you head to Tejas, give me a heads up.

<S> Icemaw!, Shuffler!
I got a good story of when Curval joined AH. I'm pretty sure this is accurate, and I don't recall if I was the CO of JG-2 or VMF squad....anyway...there was this lone F4U that kept trying to spawn and take off from an enemy airfield that we had stripped of its ack and waiting for a C47 to fly in. So we'd take turns just strafing, killing the spawner.
after being killed about 20 times, I finally PM'd the flyer and told him he should just give up, he was just padding scores for my JG-2 Squad. He finally got on the open channel and said "Rip, I just joined, I have no clue what I'm doing!" so we invited him into JG 2 and that's how Curval was introduced to AH.
LOL!
